"The home and grounds were lovely, and just as pictured! Jill, who lives onsite, was very gracious in helping with whatever we needed, but also gave us plenty of privacy. We had pretty much whatever we needed, but there’s a convenience store right around the corner, which we frequented for odds and ends. Our stay initially started with just 4 people (me, my husband, 2 kids in their 20’s), but then had 2 others show up with very little notice. I thought it was okay for them to stay at the house, because thought I had read somewhere the place could sleep 6 people if using the pullout sofa. I then found out the house rules had changed, to only allow 4 guests. However, the other host, Joanne, was very understanding and accommodating, and allowed them to stay for a very nominal fee. Overall, I’d highly recommend the house to anyone visiting the western NY area! It’s top-notch, full of character, and very affordable!"

It was very clean and they had so many extras that made it easy & enjoyable - like a pantry with cooking items like olive oil and a handful of spices! I will totally book here again!"

"Our family of five had a wonderful stay at the Gate House! The location can’t be beat for its proximity to the Perry entrance of Letchworth Park, and for its beautiful quiet setting and grounds. My husband especially loved reading beside the fire and gazing at the magnificent stars visible with the backyard light turned off. He says he was surprised by the lack of mosquitos, although he did find one tick. This nicely remodeled but not entirely updated house is thoughtfully stocked with abundant kitchen supplies, lots of extra blankets, a fan in every bedroom, and a variety of books, games, and puzzles. With at least five activities in the basement game area, our children were easily entertained. Check-in and check-out were very easy, and the owners responded quickly to our texts. Our cell phones had only single-bar LTE, and Letchworth Park, as well, was pretty much a dead zone. The Wi-Fi service was reliable and reasonably fast. We highly recommend The Gate House as a peaceful getaway for nature lovers!"

"The rv is in a great location. We enjoyed our visit to Perry! Great little area to visit unique restaurants and shops. The camping neighborhood is peaceful and the people are friendly. The lake is beautiful."
