"It was fine for 1 night as a solo guest. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Just needed somewhere to shower and sleep after a night out. Room could have been cleaner, hair on the floor of the shower and the walls of the room could really use a wipe down/repainting. Breakfast wasn't great, just a choice of cereal & toast, nothing else! That said, I'd still use again if I needed to stay in that area, good price for August!"

"My husband has been going up to London for Merchant Navy Day for a number of years now, and has always stayed at City Stay for at least the past 12 of them. Classed as a budget hotel it is more than adequate for his needs. 2 minutes from the tube to Kings Cross Station it is ideally situated. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is a reasonable size, but being an older building the stairs to the upper floors are not the widest! "This truly is the best hotel I've stayed in on my many visits to London. The breakfast has a good choice of full English, cooked to order, and continental, the little pastries are delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and they are so polite I had a separate toilet and shower which, in itself, wasn't a problem. "Room 10 - right by the office. Handy for car park to rear. Quite noisy when the office is busy. When I arrived the guy on the desk said 3 nights for 3 people (I corrected him - 2 nights for 1 person) I was then shown to a single room which I assume he hadn’t planned to give me. He quickly removed what appeared to be used towels from the bathroom and replaced them.
