Welcome to Leavitt Lookout, a cozy two-cabin stay with stunning Mountain View’s all year round. Every season here at the cabin is special and unique in its own way. Just minutes to Jay Peak, our two-cabin property is the perfect place to warm up by the wood burning stove after a long winter day on the mountain. We have a new addition to our property with a freshly built studio cabin just across the firepit! Our new cabin sleeps 2 with its own full bathroom and kitchenette and porch with stunning views of Jay Peak. The second cabin will always be rented with your reservation so you have the entire property to yourself, making this ideal for a group getaway with friends/family!
Summertime at the cabin brings endless hiking opportunities with entry to the Long Trail just down the road. You are around the corner from “secret” natural swimming holes and cliff jumping spots. Or explore the nearly 8,000 acres of Jay State Forest right outside the back door. Just a short hike in the back woods, there is a natural stream with rushing waters, especially in spring when the snow melts. There is also a propane grill for summer nights and an outdoor firepit for cooking over the fire or roasting marshmallows under the stars.
Fall at the cabin brings foliage that can’t be beat. Drive around town or take the Jay Peak tram up the mountain for breathtaking fall views.
On top of the nature that surrounds you, Jay Peak Resort has an indoor water park open year round, swimming pools, a golf course and multiple other activities (rock climbing walls, music festivals, etc.)
***Please note: Though the main cabin sleeps 6, it is cozy and quaint with one loft bedroom accessed by a ladder only. This loft is for sleeping only.

About the space:
Living room- Enter into the living room with two small couches by a wood burning stove. There is a smart TV for watching any of your streaming apps. Or enjoy our selection of board/card games provided.
Kitchen- Kitchen is small but fully stocked with all the essentials for your cooking needs. Our dining room seats 6 people with Mountain views right from the table.
Master bedroom- Wake up to the mountains with our most unique room in the house. With a Queen-sized bed, our cabin master also features a garage door that opens right to the backyard. The garage door is screened in, allowing you to open the door and enjoy the peacefulness and sounds of the nature that surrounds you.
*Please note the master does not have a true door. We use two heavy curtains for privacy.
Second bedroom: Includes a full-sized bed and dresser.
Loft: The cabin has a loft area with queen-sized mattress that can only be accessed via a ladder from the living room. This is a true loft meant for sleeping quarters only.
*Please note, the loft ladder is very heavy and should be left down at all times.
NEW! Second cabin: Our new addition is a studio cabin across the Firepit area from the main cabin. This cabin has a queen sized bed, kitchenette and full bathroom with stall shower. There are stunning views of Jay Peak right from the back porch!
Other things to note
**Please leave loft ladder down at all times.
**Winter guests:
This location gets large amounts of snowfall. Street and driveway will be plowed regularly, however access to the cabin during heavy snowfall is best for those with four wheel drive and/or snow tires.
**In the event of a snowstorm during your stay:
Please pull vehicles off to the side of the driveway closer to the garbage shed so plow can pass through U-shaped driveway without vehicles having to be moved.
**Fall/Winter guests:
Please note this space can get frequent ladybugs flying around windows/lights. They are local and quite stubborn guests. We try our best to keep them to a minimum!
