"A quiet retreat on the edge of Kenora. Laura and Dave are the most gracious of hosts! So friendly and wanting to make sure you are comfortable, offering you fresh veggies from the garden or anything else you may need. The bunkie is clean and comfortable. A home away from home! "Our experience with a stay at this lodge was so incredible. We stayed in cabin #8, which was small but very cozy. Our family of 5 slept all together which we don’t get to do often so was fun! The kids all had their own bed as there were still 4 beds. We had a full kitchen and bathroom as well. The cabin was very clean and well prepared for guests. There is water front swimming and docks. We had our own dock off the side of our cabin which our son was out fishing off constantly. The water was...

"We were really grateful that the owner, Ed does single night rentals; although we would have loved to stay longer. Also, it is off grid, but with solar power. Biggest thing we were concerned about was my husband’s CPAP machine having enough power. There was no issues at all!! Quiet, remote and picturesque! "

"Our family of 6 (kids ages 3-18) had a wonderful stay at the Citadel. The owner, Grahame, answered all of our questions and was more than accommodating during our stay. The Citadel is tucked away down a short gravel road and the view can’t be beat. Watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee is a must. We went to Nestor Falls to fish, so we took our boat the short 7 min drive to Lake of the Woods for some great walleye and Northern fishing, and ended each day at the Citadel. Our kids LOVED the...
