"This host is amazing! Communicative, client focused, wants you to have a great experience...And the place is divine! I stayed during a hurricane on the island and it was such a cozy, warm, clean, well equipped shelter. It felt like "home". The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to make a meal, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean and well stocked and the sauna is such an incredible perk. Also the fire pit out side and private area (great for a wedding party or other celebration) It is another ferry ride from the MV and once on chappy it's a few miles from chappy ferry so maybe have a bike or scooter to shuttle you. Well worth the price, all in all...you get what you pay for and this is fantastic."

"The hosts are excellent people, great communicators who want VBRO guests to have an outstanding experience. Chappy is a wonderful retreat from the rest of the world. That is my only word of caution, it requires a ferry to eat out or shop. Otherwise this is a great place to read write meditate beach and let go of everyday worries. It has a higher price tag because your paying for a premium location, guest service experience and higher quality accomodation."

"Highly recommend. We loved the tranquility. This was a perfect escape from noise. The beautiful bird calls over morning coffee on the porch, and daily visits from a doe and her fawn were special. We hiked several miles on the beautiful trails. Van's Butterfly Cottage is cozy, immaculate, and has a calming decor. Van is a very attentive and superb host. Thank you, Van! "

"Enjoyed staying here. House is on a private lot, quiet neighborhood. Close to beach and Chappy Ferry. Plenty of space in the house and it has all the amenities. It was nice not to have to pack and bring beach chairs or beach towels or linens. Would definitely stay again."
