"This was a last minute reservation for us and we were truly delighted by how quaint and lovely the hotel was. The beds were comfortable, breakfast good, bathrooms near the breakfast nook were very clean, pool was great and the staff was friendly. We did not notice the detail about not having an elevator, but that was our own fault."

Spacious & secluded grand home near Kickapoo River, Bike Trails, & ATV routes

"Overall, it was good. One burner on stove did not work. A few lightbulbs were burned out.The gas grill did not work the first time we wanted to use it, but the owner brought in a different one the next day for our use for the rest of our stay. The large deck was shaded from the sun, and a pleasant place to gather. However, some of the deck chairs need repair or replacement.The front yard along the driveway would have been a great place for the kids to play outdoor games, but 6-8 black angus escaped from inside the wire fence along the the driveway daily, and relieved themselves on the lawn. It was entertaining for the kids but eliminated the desire to play in that area, which was dis appointing.We road on the nearby bike trails, tubed down the Kickapoo River, and hiked in Wildcat State Park, which was all great, and the kids had a great time."

"They are under construction. Second floor is done I guess but no elevator. I use a cane so they gave us a first floor room . However that floor is under construction so noise and glue smells. Our room was clean. Breakfast was good , that area is redone but rest of lobby still had boxes etc. word to the wise they do give a veteran discount but you have to do that when you first register which we did not. When it’s all done it will be super!"
