Room was clean, though a bit musty. The bathroom was exceptionally clean. The pool was closed, but the lovely woman at the front desk (I don’t remember her name, but if management reads this, she was taking her child to Alabama the next day - she’s a keeper!) was extremely helpful and told me about the Sparta Aquatic Park. I’m so glad she did, as my daughter had a blast there. Our room was conveniently located so that it was easy to take our dog outside. Breakfast was more than just grab and go. There were eggs and biscuits & gravy along with the usual continental breakfast offerings. Overall, a great place for the price.

The hotel had an odor, the smell in the room was musty, carpets were filthy, really filthy, the pool they advertised was closed & covered in scum. Didn’t have the stomach to check out their free breakfast. Bedding had to be 20 years old, blankets were thinly worn, furniture was very old & banged up. Sink didn’t drain well, The type of place you double check to make sure there aren’t bedbugs. Didn’t see any! The desk clerks were friendly.

We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past while visiting family. This visit was very disappointing in how much it has gone downhill. The first issue is that we arrived at 2:15 asking to check in. There is a screen with someone to talk to who wanted $10 to check in 45 minutes early. First he said that the room wasn't ready, but if we paid the $10 it would be ready then. So we waited the 45 minutes. Then the "fun" began. The check in procedure is like talking to a vending machine with a human face. This is a hospitality business and talking to a screen is far from hospitable. So, we had to scan our card (which is on file), then wait for a vending slot to produce the room card. This is unacceptable. So, then we go to our room #114. There is no facial tissue. There is no lotion, the little things that make a stay comfortable. Then let's talk about the dirty room. The bathroom floor trim was dusty and dirty. The sheets were stained on both beds. The TV stand needed to be wiped down. The safety bar in the shower stall actually pulled out of the slot when my husband tried to use it. The shower bypass knob is stuck so the shower drips all the time when trying to fill the bathtub. Because of this, the shower head did not have enough pressure to take a decent shower. There was a bag of trash at the back door that was there when we checked in and still there at 10 PM when we returned from our evening. This place was a terrible disappointment and never again.
