About this property

Beach house close to the ocean direct beach access

  • Leave your car parked for the the whole vacation! Want an easy walk to the beach? Want to be steps away from a great grocery store? Want walkability to shops? Would you like to be able to walk to a restaurant and bar? This house has it all! Newly renovated and ready to help make lasting memories. 75 yards to direct beach access next to Publix grocery and beach shops. Walkability score 10! Shady back yard with a picnic table perfect for grilling. My wife and I bought this lovely ranch style house with the thoughts of what and where we wanted our retirement place to be. We were inspired by the towns we visited in Northern Europe, where the citizens could walk to work, shop, and play. We didn't expect to find a place that we could have all that and still be steps away from the beautiful and uncrowded beaches that North Carolina offers, but we did. My wife and I welcome you into our home. From the centuries year old oak trees that offer shade from the summer sun in the back of our house, you can plan your next adventure while grilling out with our new gas grill. Play a game of corn hole, or just relax. Forget that special brand of coffee that would make it a perfect morning? No worries, head over to Publix and grab whatever you need. Don't worry about finding parking to get to the beach. Multiple great restaurants are an easy walk as well. You might just lose that brother-in-law for a few hours when he finds that sports bar a couple blocks away.

    A possible day itinerary could be as follows. Wake up in the morning and walk over to scoops ice cream and donuts and pick up a dozen made to order gourmet donuts (eat one there before you go, the fresher, the better). grab a cup of coffee and walk over to the beach to see what the surf looks like. If there's some waves you and your family might want to go boogie boarding (boogie boards provided). around noon come on back to the house grill up some hamburgers. after lunch head back to the beach to soak up some sun or maybe go to one of the many shops nearby. For supper you can either have supper there at the house or go out to eat to one of the many great restaurants in the area. Don't forget to go to one of the many ice cream shops for evening dessert! My wife and I are here on the island to help you with anything that you might need.

We enjoyed our stay so much at this beautiful house! Very close to the beach. Was in reasonable walking distance that our young children had no problems walking back and forth between the house and beach entrance. Right across the road from Publix and within walking distance to the park, and very many other restaurants and other stores. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone and plan to stay again!

The house could use some updating, but it is clean and comfortable. The beach and grocery store are both easy walks from the house. The beds are comfortable, and the TV is huge. Being a rancher was very convenient for us. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We would stay here again.

Wow, this home was just wonderful. Great location just a block from the beach and the Publix across the street. The beach gear provided was an added bonus. When it is available in the future, it will be our go to spot in Oak Island.

Vacation rescued

We had to adjust our vacation dates due to tropical storm Debby and the owners worked with us. We arrived to perfect weather, and a great little house so close to the beach! The house had everything we needed for a family vacation with kids. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this property to friends.

Magnificent oak trees

We were about two blocks away from the opening to the beach. Our guests provided everything we needed to make our vacation memorable. Great location right across from the Publix, felt just like home!

Oak island family getaway

Very cute house. Easy access to beach with bonus of chairs and wagon ready for use. We did arrive during a storm and the metal roof required ear plugs. Very clean and great space for our family. Would stay again.

Great time in Oak Island

We enjoyed out stay in Oak Island, NC. The house was very clean and comfortable. It was such a convenient location for walking to the beach, the store, and to coffee in the morning and ice cream in the evening with the kids. The house was recently updated and had everything we needed.

Wonderful beach rental

Family had a great time staying here. Two people in group had knee issues so this house was perfect. No steps and easy beach access. To reach the beach short walk down a level street and slight elevation through the sand at the end. House has comfortable beds, a great dining area and more roomy than it looks. Well stocked grocery store and several good restaurants near by.

Perfect spot on Oak Island

I can't say enough about the location––super close to pretty much anything you'll need, including a very quick walk to Publix, coffee, pizza, and the beach. Well maintained house with plenty of space for a family, and communication with the hosts was very simple. We're hoping to come back another time.

Great vacation

We had a lovely family vacation! The location is perfect, it’s short stroll to everything you need. We greatly enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and both the donut/ice cream shop and the BBQ place across the street. The hosts are very kind, available if you need them, but not intrusive at all. The house is cozy and homey, we felt very comfortable there. We look forward to returning another time.

The house was perfect for our group of 5. The host was excellent tonwork with and we were able to add an additional night on our stay. We walked to several dining options and shopping. The beach is just a short walk down the street. There is a Publix grocery directly across the street.

A sweet weekend

The location of this listing is amazing. Less than two blocks to the beach access. And it is right next door to Publix. Everything is within reach. The listing is clean and and accurate as it is listed. Great listing. Would definitely go back if oak island is the list again.

Great house for our family of 4 to have a quick retreat to Oak Island. Quick walk to the beach and a grocery store so you can easily pickup anything you need. Good restaurants nearby also. Everything was clean and working well. AC kept us nice and cool on some hots days & nights, and WiFi was powerful enough for everyone to be on at night. Kitchen was stocked with a little bit of everything so we didn’t have to buy small items like coffee filters. Great stay and hosts quickly answered any questions we had.

Amazing!!!

What a wonderful house! Anything you need is there, we found a little cooler in the shed that was perfect! Back yard was so relaxing.. the beautiful coastal trees, birds, a huge fig tree! Quiet and so close to the beach! The grocery store steps away!! The massive TV we watched late night movies and laughed and laughed! People watching from the lounge chairs out front! Most of all… steps from a stunning beach, lovely water, like being in the edge of the world. I never wanted to leave! I hope I can return soon! Thank you to the property owner for everything!
