Still a great place to stay. I stayed there years ago and this was our first time back. It’s still a great place. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Motel has been remodeled and is comfortable and clean.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. We had never been to Oak Island before and booked this on a whim. Would definitely recommend. Easy access to the beach and two restaurants within walking distance.

My room did not have a beach view, next to the ice machine and microwave room, which people used at 2 am. The bed was really comfy, and room was spotless. Beautiful plush pristine white bath towels. Room had a musty damp smell. Ladies in the front office and cleaning staff are all very sweet.

Excellent location and staff were so accommodating and friendly. Older property but clean with good upkeep. Small bath room area with sink that was located more in the kitchenette area. Some type of shelf in that area for toiletries would have been great but we made it work. I would trade the space for the view any day. We will absolutely be back.

This was the cleanest place I ever stayed. The rooms were basic but there were a lot of small things that showed a lot of thought was put into making it a step above for example the rooms had a safe for valuables. The beds were comfy and the towels were nicer quality than many other places I've stayed. I loved being right on the beach and so close to the fishing pier. This place was so ideal for a relaxing vacation. There was plenty of parking. I constantly saw staff outside working on the grounds. The staff was so friendly and it was pleasant to chat with them. Checkin and out was easy. I will definitely be back here. Loved the close proximity to other islands and beaches but you truly could come here and never leave the parking lot or the island if you wanted to. There is a restaurant next door although I didnt eat there this time. I can't say enough good about this place to do it justice. I wasnt sure what to expect being that it was my first time here but my experience was great and I want to stay here again in the future, I won't even look elsewhere because this was just too perfect and so cozy, comfortable, and clean.

My boys and I really enjoyed our stay at Ocean Crest Motel! The lobby staff were very kind and helpful. The room was seriously spotless, I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness. It was cleaner than most air bnb’s we’ve stayed in. We had plenty of towels and blankets. The view from the motel is gorgeous and the beach access was awesome. The pool was also very clean and well taken care of. There is a really delicious restaurant located right next door and the property is just minutes from countless other dining choices. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Booked a room as a last minute, quick get away. Room was clean, staff was extremely professional, polite, and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again. Private pool and beach access were added bonus. Highly recommend. Bed, bathroom, dorm size fridge, small table and chairs.. conveniant stay. If youre looking for a place to cook your meals or all inclusive kitchen area....this isnt it. This is perfect size to clean up and sleep, relax. Bed was comfortable.. Quick trip or travelling on a budget...this, right here is it.. Great price, easy access to rooms. Great staff. Clean room. Nice pool. Pier right next door, and also a sit down or take out restsurant 50 feet across parking lot. Motel was easy to find, check in was a breeze and it was a great, comfortable place to stay.

AC & Heating Unit

The AC & Heat unit smelled like humid, old towel, urine smell, and filter/ blades on vane, was not clean...so the smell was rancid. We turned on the ceiling fan and opened the window and front door, and was able to finally turned AC/heat unit off, and smell out of room only few hours, by 11pm, we close door and went sleep with ceiling fan and no heat,ok. Broom and dirty dustpan in room, so we no hang up clothes or put shoes. There is no extra blanket, so I sleep with my jacket and hoodie for warm. But nice view,close to beach and pier. Nice staff, happy and good smile. If I go to OKI again, I will stay there again, maybe next time I check ac and heater 1st. Thank you 👍

Happy Blissful

Recently separated and life just felt so heavy so, I decided to take a trip by myself. And, I was so pleasantly surprised by this little motel. I stayed in room 213 and was able to see the ocean and 2 lighthouses at night. I could hear the waves and was a quick little walk down to the sand where I spent most of my time. The dunes were quite high and most of the beach was hard sand because the tide came up quite high. But, the friendly staff helped me fix my newly installed smart TV. To room cooled and kept temperature very very well I was so comfortable that when I got sunburnt I hated how efficient it was. My only downfall because was the microwave was down in the other side of the motel so, I had to do the walk of shame with my chips and queso. But, I loved that it was not a huge touristy town. It was just simply blissful for me. And, walking distance to 2 bars right next door. Just be careful you may be the youngest in the whole bar. I couldn’t be happier.

Check-in staff were super friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with cozy beds and a mini fridge, and room safe. The hotel is in a great location—just a short walk to the beach, pier, and two nearby restaurants. The area is super quiet at night also, even though the setup would make you think you’d be woken by road noise we weren’t, was able to sleep in both days. Just a heads-up: one of the restaurants has more of a bar vibe and may not be the best choice for families. The hotel had most of the basics, but be aware that they do not provide body wash, shampoo, or conditioner. If you’re someone who usually depends on hotel toiletries, be sure to bring your own. I thought I had packed mine but hadn’t, and I was surprised to find none in the room. My son joked that it’s because it’s a motel, not a hotel—lol! There’s an ice machine on the property, along with a washer and dryer in the same room. Interestingly, there was also a microwave in that area—but not in our room. It would’ve been convenient to have one in the room, especially for quick snacks or to reheat food. Overall, it was a good stay. My favorite part was definitely the short walk to the beach and pier—it made the whole trip feel relaxing and easy.

The room was cleaned and smelled good/ clean, bed was very comfortable sheets and blankets and pillows all in good shape towels also. This room was more than adequate and very convenient to the beach and the fishing pier next-door. I’m not sure it’s the right term to use, but this is an old school motel that is properly maintained and cleaned. The staff were available and friendly, price was a fair market offering.
