Adventure Hotel Hellissandur

"We felt welcomed after a long day’s drive. The restaurant on site, The Mural, was excellent. The dinner and breakfast were good. We did have a broken door handle in the bathroom and we reported it to staff."

"Positives-secluded spot that is perfect to see northern lights, which we saw. Neighbor cat greets guests. Breakfast was included. Check in and check out was easy. They had a towel warmer which allowed me to handwash and dry clothes. I did that. The windows opened so I wasn't too hot. There was also a nice closet with hangers to help dry clothing after hiking. I wish we stayed there longer. Negatives: not perfectly clean. There was a dip in the shower which collected water that would pool and not drain. There was standing shower water when I arrived and I could not get it out without using a towel. They should dry it after cleaning for hygiene. The sink had hair in it from prior guests which I cleaned out in order to wash clothes. I'm not a fan of shower heads that face the shower curtain. Or is difficult to keep the floor clean. This one was very cramped but had a handheld shower only which made it easier to contain the splash. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. These are really minor/fixable issues and they were specific to this room. We wish we had booked more nights."

"The Old Post office was a large guesthouse very close to the Kirkjufell waterfall and mountai. The mountain was well seen from the guesthouse. The rooms were quite large, with private bathrooms and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was a bit small but ok for a simple meal. The whole place was very clean. We liked staying there."

"Très dépaysant comme hébergement... on débarque dans une commune des années 60, peace & love! Personnel accueillant, les espaces communautaires sont très hippie mais la chambre est toute neuve, avec sa salle de bain privée."
Kirkjufell Hotel

"The room was very comfortable & clean. The description of the property says there is a bar/lounge. There is no bar/lounge on site, which was disappointing after traveling. I was expecting to grab some food when we arrived. There is a restaurant close by, but only open for breakfast and a few hours for dinner. There were only a few restaurants in the area and some food trucks. The staff was very helpful."
