"Characteristic Thai experience at this landmark hotel. The suites are enormous, the staff is excellent, and the rooftop bars & restaurants are extraordinary! That said this was not actually my best Thai hotel experience; not because of staff or comfort, but more due to lack of some conveniences. For instance, while we were there the gym was not open; closed for upgrades means it may he better in the future, but for current guests you jave to be carted to the Holiday Inn for a workout. Inconvenient. Second this area of Bangkok just wasn't as centrally located and convenient as others. I previously stayed in the Sukhumvit Soi 11 area and that was a lot better for nearby amenities. All in all no regrets - for fans of The Hangover II movie this is a must see and the rooftop experience is unparalleled. However, there are other newer, and cheaper, options in Bangkok that can be as if not more comfortable, with more convenience and a better price."
