We were attending my mums funeral and it was the perfect place to rest, align, relax and prepare emotionally for the funeral held the bext day.. We were opposite the river which was very tranquil and peaceful.. Our accommodation was perfectly clean and we could not fault anything.. We are thinking to return again for a holiday retreat.. "The setting is north-facing, to bush and a rocky-bedded stream. Apart from the occasional sound from some friendly animal, you hear burbling water and wind in the trees. Inside everything is ‘proper’ and well maintained. The fire has copious supplies of dry wood replenished daily, from trees on the property. The couches are comfy and the kitchen is well-appointed. Ōkaihau is 10 or 12 kms away and has cafes and stores. It is a lovely small traditional NZ town. Village? The location is convenient for all the destinations in the area whether Ngawha Springs, Kaikohe and all spots around the Hokianga."
