"It is worth noting that we had mobility issues, requiring a walker, and the Alexandra provided a wonderful accommodation to meet our needs. The room (in particular the bathroom, with grab bars and a roll-in shower), the lobby, the dining areas, and the hotel in general were all easily accessible (despite the the hotel apparently having been built long before these things were considered important). The minor exceptions were that the room was a long ways from the elevator, with a couple of doors that were a tad awkward to open, and the hotel entrance with a ramp, i.e no steps, was around the side and through the restaurant. Minor, but worth noting. The hotel was an easy walk to downtown Fort William, and easily accessible to the train station and grocery store. The room was comfortable, and large enough to move around in easily. Dinner was wonderful and charming, and the provided breakfast had a large selection of foods in a well conceived dining area (we were able to get in, get our food, and put the walker so it was out of the way). Parking initially seemed a bit of an issue, but the staff actually guided us to park right by the front door. Regardless of whether it was an “official” parking space, they gave their blessing to leave the car there. We would happily recommend the Alexandra to any one visiting the area, including folks with mobility issues."

"Peter was the absolute best! After a nightmare of a flight that went from a 1 hour layover to 9 hours, we arrived late to The Oyster Inn. Peter was so kind. He saved us some food from dinner, that ended at 8 (we got there at 9). It was excellent! I also received the largest pour of white wine I have ever received. Slept incredibly well. Turned out entire vacation around! Thank you Peter, and your wonderful kitchen staff!!"

"New fully furnished house with tons of room! Such a nice chance of pace after multiple small hotel room. Ability to do laundry and make a proper meal in a full kitchen. Close to grocery store for provisions. 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. Only minus…Front room is close to the road and there is some road noise. Rear rooms are quiet. "
