"I have stayed at other Motel 6 locations and had good experiences. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. had to be in Costa Mesa for a few days, so I figured I’d take a budget hotel option. I wasn’t expecting deluxe accommodations, but this did not even rise to that level. My room had a strong, foul odor. It smelled like someone was trying to cover up cigarette smell with perfume or air freshener. Every time I opened the door, the smell hit me in the face. The room didn’t have any “do not disturb” signs. There was a weird, sticky patch on the floor by the fridge, like it was leaking. I asked for housekeeping during my stay, but never got it. The most uncomfortable part was that on the morning I checked out, I was approached by drug users in the parking lot. I did not feel safe at all after that. I would never stay here again and frankly would like some or all of my money back. Totally inadequate experience."

"We had a very good experience, this is our first time at this hotel, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would like to give a shout out to CYPRIAN at the front desk, who was wonderful to my daughter and I at making sure that we were taken care of throughout our three nights stay. Effron was also amazing! Rooms were clean, perfect location, close to restaurants and cute little coffee shops, the mall, the beach. I definitely will go back and stay here again. Sidenote, bring your water bottle and they have filtered water machines combined with the ice maker. It’s better than the old school icemakers. The saved me from having to buy bottled water."

"Most of the staff were kind and friendly. One staff person at the front desk had a haughty manner. Hot tub was nice 2 out of 3 days. On the third it was a warm tub."

"The property is aesthetically stunning, the staff- impeccable service. It is not far from a beach or eateries. Great. Not great: I believe this hotel has severe mold issues. The restaurant smells really bad (I mentioned it to one of the staff) as I’ve lived through mold issues. The room I was in, smelled worse. The ac unit was broken and made a very loud sound the whole night (I showed the front desk staff the video to which they were apologetic). My shower had someone else’s hair on the walls- it wasn’t clean. I told the front desk about it as well- they responded with apologies. I wasn’t looking to receive anything, I just wanted them to know. I feel their responses were appropriate and caring. There is a woman who works the mornings at the restaurant- she was very rude to me. My oatmeal that I ordered was watery- she didn’t offer to take the charge off. She just asked if I wanted something else (not to replace it or exchange it) but something else to order. I didn’t want a sky high bill, I said no. She still charged me though I hadn’t eaten one bite. I ordered an omelette on second thought as I was hungry. When the check came, I asked for $6.00 off (the price of my oatmeal) to be deducted. She rudely said, “that’s why I asked you” and stormed off. It made me sad honestly. I felt like it was personal and non caring. The overall experience was just subpar- the front desk staff’s professionalism and the view of the courtyard were the good. "

"Overall pretty clean, eventhough there was some sink in what appeared to be a closet that had a tuna can or something like that in it. I just threw it out because we needed a place to sleep. The heater did not work and my wife was chilly, so I just ran the hair dyer at her. No mention of any compensation of the heater not working so I just blew it off. The hotel felt safe."
