"Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was not the best. The breakfast was very disappointing and honestly one of the worst parts of the stay. I truly would not recommend the hotel breakfast (The Abalone). Additionally, the front desk staff was not very friendly or understanding when I asked for a late check-out of just 20 minutes. They did not seem very welcoming in the morning. On the positive side, the housekeeping staff was wonderful — very kind, generous, and professional throughout the stay. They were definitely the highlight of the experience. Additionally, the beach view was beautiful, and the bar staff was exceptional."

"Just spent a week here for Rockville. Very clean and friendly staff. The room is kept at a tepid temperature you can't really control. I recommend bringing a fan. But for a budget hotel it gets 5 stars especially because of the view and ease of getting to the beach. Parking is limited but thats not uncommon for a smal beachfront hotel but they did have a space for everyone to have one spot. The kitchen was stocked and had a small table. The room was a good size and the bathroom was clean. There are 2 chairs and a table outside the room and there’s a wall between you and your neighbor’s doorway, so you get balcony-style privacy right outside your door. It’s perfect for sitting in the provided chairs and watching the sunset. Honestly for the price its a definite stay again."

"The view was amazing and the room itself was clean and came with all needed amenities. Easy access to the pool as well as the beach. Staff was also very helpful and pleasant will definitely be staying here in the future."

"Will not book again. Reserved and paid for an ocean view 2 bedroom 6 months in advance and got shafted to a parking lot view and was told sorry about your luck. The bathtubs in both bathrooms were peeling real bad to the point that the paint was clogging the drains while showering. Found several roaches crawling around. The 1 elevator they have was out of service the first full day there for a couple hours so we had to take the stairs, then the power went out for about 12 hours the next day after I just spent $160 on food and drinks in the refrigerator. Maybe not their fault but still a bad experience. Over all the place is old and run down and the staff doesn’t seem to give a rats ass. Terrible stay. Do not recommend unless you’re on a budget."

"I did enjoy access to the beach and the view was awesome. The only thing is no microwave, coffee maker, nor ice bucket was in the room. I had to go downstairs for an ice bucket & I noticed a microwave in the lobby with coffee maker. But my visit was very peaceful and great."

"We went fourteen hours without electric/air conditioning with no assist or communication from the host. I reached out when I realized that there was no electric around 8pm, and he sent me a screenshot showing it had been out since 2pm with a 10:45pm fix. It turned out to be a 4am fix, with zero update or help provided for a room without air conditioning in May in Florida. I believe that everyone staying there that night should be given a refund/discount, as none of us were paying to “camp.”"

"The rates were higher because it was during a music festival, which I don’t mind. But when I pay higher rates I expect to at least have a hotel stay that doesn’t involve the loss of electricity for over 12 hours. I was comped for 50% of the cost of one night’s stay even though I lost all the food I brought with me due to the fridge not working because of the loss of electricity, not to mention being without ac in Florida, and not even having a way to vent the room without having the door wide open since the only window doesn’t open. I can overlook things like the property not being pristine since a lot of the beachside hotels in the area are similar in their wear and tear, but I can’t overlook how not one person in the staff even acknowledged the power outage, and probably wouldn’t have offered any compensation had I not brought it up. The pool area was nice and matched the description in the pictures. "
