Affordable and nice hotel

Nice, affordable and centrally located hotel including Swedish fika, dinner and breakfast. We booked an extra bed, but at arrival there were no extra bed due to "a small room", according to staff. However, an extra bed would easily have fitted the room.

Oskarshamn Hotel

We selected this hotel because of its location and positive reviews. We were in the area to visit relatives of my father’s father. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast and fika and dinner were delicious. There is a set menu for dinner, in addition to salad options. Fresh fruit for breakfast was a treat. All staff were friendly and helpful. There were even games, including chess, checkers, dominoes, and others. It was a short walk to the Doderhult Museum. We visited from Michigan, USA.

Amazing building, friendly staff and a cosy but comfortable room. The transformation from post office into hotel was done with respect for the original features and it's heritage But, the restaurant was really disappointing, and the strange chicken kebab stew they served as the included dinner really was far from the standard we are used to from this chain, and the vegetarian option was even worse. Also clutter, storage and staff clothes were visible to guests both in the restaurant and lobby, which you would not expect in a four star hotel. I think we were just a bit unlucky, and still would not mind giving it another go.

Great for family stay

We are back here again, always enjoy Clarion hotel, service and the food. One motivating factor us to keep coming back to this hotel and other Clarion hotels is kids stay for free, a very family friendly hotel. Other than this, the location is great. Pillows are abit too soft but overall, super good and will come back again.

Service was ok, not the worst and not the best, but ok. The thing that I found the most irritating was paying an extra 300sek for my dog which would be fine, but they provide nothing extra for that cost. Other hotels that charge extra for dogs in nearly all cases have water/food bowls a dog bed and sometimes a little bag of dog treats. The hotel was otherwise in good condition and the food was good. I would however probably not stay here again because of the over expensive dog for nothing experience.

Trevlig personal men vi blev skickade till byggnaden bredvid hotellet som är obemannad. Hade kanske valt ett annat alternativ då det tog bort lite av känslan. Rummet va litet, med ett fönster som gick att öppna men då kunde man kliva ut på en brandtrappa, dvs lika enkelt att kliva in genom fönstret också. Men det är väl såklart bra med brandsäkerhet. Skön säng och kuddar! Duschen inte lika kul, blev blött på hela badrumsgolvet. Då ställen att ställa sina saker på. Litet handfat och ingen plats för necessär vilket man önskar för betyget dom har. Men detta är trots allt små saker. Städet va väldigt fint och överlag hade vi en bra upplevelse, vi spenderade inte mycket tid på hotellet utan sov endast där. Frukosten va helt okej, vissa saker hade stått framme ett tag så som smör etc men överlag en bra frukost. Parkering bör man kolla upp själv då vi hade betalat 600kr genom deras sida men fick nu istället knappt betala någonting pga röda dagar. Man va tvungen att säga till om det skulle städad och byta handdukar, annars fick man gå och hämta själv.
