A very nice budget hotel. Two in our party are celiac and they enjoyed the breakfast buffet which had a gluten free station. The hotel was right in the heart of the city but the rooms were extremely quiet. We enjoyed the bar and the courtyard. Would happily stay again.

The bed was really soft but spacious. . Staff was great. Nice and quiet place. You would never know you were in the heart of the city. Very close to the train station. The room was smaller than expected but we were not in it very much to matter.

Great place to stay in the heart of Oslo. Staff were always helpful. Room was very small but adequate for our stay. Breakfast was amazing, great variety and ample quantity. Location was close to everything. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel says that they have Laundry available. However, they don’t tell you that it is NOT actually at the hotel, but rather a 10 minute walk to a “sister” hotel. The single washer and dryer are shared by at least 3 different “sister” hotels…it could be more than 3 hotels- but a minimum of 3 for one washer and one dryer. The breakfast buffet was good with a wide selection.

The hotel room was clean, but the mattress was far too plush for my family. It felt like a giant sponge, and it broke all of our backs after just one night. The location and staff were great, though, so I’d give it a three-star rating. Just be careful if you need a proper mattress for a good night’s sleep.

My stay at Karl Johan Hotel was wonderful from start to finish. The location is unbeatable, right on Karl Johans gate and within easy walking distance of Oslo Central Station, the Royal Palace, restaurants, shops, and many of the city’s main attractions. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The breakfast each morning was excellent, with a great variety of fresh and delicious options that made it the perfect way to start the day. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help with recommendations and any questions we had. Traveling with my mother, we especially appreciated how accommodating and kind everyone was throughout our stay. I highly recommend Karl Johan Hotel to anyone visiting Oslo. It offers an ideal combination of comfort, outstanding service, a fantastic breakfast, and one of the best locations in the city. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Norway.
