The scary looking building and the dark history should not fool you, it's very modern and tastefully renovated to sort of alternative hotel. The larger rooms are quite OK, not claiming much luxury but very well furnished and super comfortable. The staff is great! The breakfast is standard but very good and quite enjoyable, as well as the common spaces around. Really interesting place, absolutely...

"Best hotel we stayed in all of Sweden. Super kid friendly with outdoor playground, mini-golf, water-play, and indoor play area and movie night. Rooms were great and infused with character. Hotel lobby areas were very welcoming with lots of seating and areas to hang out. Staff was quite friendly in general and the breakfast buffet was decent. Best part was the location which was only a 10 min drive from Astrid Lindgren's World and even closer to the cute central square of Vimmerby."

"Bra läge. Fräscht rum. Dålig rutin vid incheckning. Incheckningsuppgifter kom väldigt sent. Hotellet består av en korridor och ingen reception. Personalen försökte vara hjälpsam men hade lite svårt med språket. Frukost i en annan byggnad vilket funkar en solig dag men kanske inte i regnrusk. Frukosten var väldigt medioker. Väldigt svagt kaffe. Sladdrig bacon. Väldigt salt äggröra. Vi bar ner väskorna till bilen och när vi återvände till rummet, långt innan utcheckning, så hade personalen börjat...
