We are so happy to have stayed here during our trip to Japan. Our room had traditional Japanese style qualities and the private onsen was amazing. We had a beautiful view of the lake, everything was clean, wonderful service, and delicious fresh food all included in our stay. It was a truly relaxing and luxurious experience. We had a great experience staying at Yumotokan. The dinner was exceptional (very filling!) and the rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The variety of onsen baths was great, each one unique and beautiful. The futon beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. Loved our stay and would highly recommend to other travellers hoping for a ryokan experience that isn’t breaking the bank!

Loved our stay! We had the private onsen which was amazing but the public ones are great too! Our dinner was a lovely event and the beers and ice cream was a great touch. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend! It’s not far away from Kyoto, about 20min or so on the train.

They offered free shuttle service to the nearest JR stations. Nice quiet area for a hot spring vacation. Breakfast and dinner were included in our package, and the food was fabulous and very authentic. It was my second time returning Yumotokan, and everything had been maintained up to standard or even better. Highly recommended!
