"My only complaints is the WiFi was extremely unreliable and would constantly cut off, and I wish there was a way to cover the sunlight from entering the bedroom in the morning. Other than that, I did love everything else about it and do recommend it. it's a whole house basically, definitely oversized for what I needed but no complaints there. Cold ac, too cold. Other than the wifi everything was great."

"We had an authentic Japanese experience staying here. The location was perfect - the house was on a quiet street while still being very close to the main attractions in the Gion area. The interior was beautiful, clean and well insulated with heated floors and AC in each room. Beds were very comfortable and the upstairs living offered a lovely veiw of the Yasaka Pagoda. "We really enjoyed staying in a real house in a real neighborhood for our trip to Kyoto. There was plenty of room for our small family, and we felt we had a more authentic visit to this beautiful city. "Great host and communication. The house is cozy and it had everything we needed. The air conditioning was great in the Japanese heatwave. In just under 10 minutes, you can walk to some of the nicest streets in Kyoto with temples and cafes. "The rooms were small compared to “American expectations” but they had everything. They made well use of every inch. I appreciated the toilet being detached from the shower, it made things quicker for me. The breakfast was delicious, a lot of choices. I wish the coffee was hotter, but that’s just my personal preference. The washer and dryer were handy. The 100 Yen coin for use was a bit challenging because I had to collect them for day to be able to use them? Again, that’s just me. The whole area is busy and nice."

"Location: Excellent. This property is located in the main train station which allowed for easy access to all trains, including Shinkansen and the underground. Yet very quiet. Shopping and restaurants all within walking. Hotel: Wonderful. Had everything required and I stayed 7 nights. Only issue is that the gym is not included. Staff: Wonderful and helpful. Room: Very nice and spacious. I recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again!"

"The first room I was given immediately exuded smelly BO, but I thought it was not aired properly so I turned on air, was so tired, just went to sleep. Although I was exhausted, I kept waking up to whiffs of stinky BO, such that after waking up and nodding back to sleep I could stand it no longer, got up at 2am (02:00), packed up my stuff and went to the lobby for a room change. I want to note that when I first pulled back the comforter, I saw a strand of hair, but didn’t have the energy to deal with it. Upon informing the staff, there was no concern of the quality and no apologies offered. The only thing she was concerned with was whether I left anything in the room. I was made to wait for 10-15 minutes before she and another staff came out to work on the room change. She accompanied me to the new assigned room, which turned out to be one with wheelchair access. Naturally being wheelchair accessible the bedroom floor was marked. The bathroom floor was not dirty but also not spotless. Again I was exhausted, walked into a clean smelling warm bedroom and nodded approval as all I wanted to do was get some rest. With checking in and out automated to a degree, it felt very cold and the word “hospitality « was lacking. The exception was the ladies who handled my luggage. They were very warm and helpful. On the positive side, I really enjoyed the various onsen baths, the amenities such as hairbrush, hair bands and skincare. Love the ice cream. Didnt try the ramen but its a nice touc"
