"First time stay at Holiday Inn in Ottawa. The hotel was exceptional. It was so clean and fresh I thought it was newly opened but it’s their 7th year of operation. Breakfast buffet was exceptional, huge variety of food and excellent coffee. The room was great, very comfortable beds and lots of extras you don’t normally see. Highly recommend!"

"This place is wonderful. Clean, gorgeous, cozy, easy, and little details topped it off. Unfortunately, nearby neighbors playing loud music who didn’t turn it down or off when asked ruined our quiet nighttime firepit time we had been looking forward to, which was upsetting for the price we paid for this. Also: Once we figured out how the map works, it made sense how to get to our cabin but we spent like 20min when we first arrived just driving around trying to find the cabin. Better communication (like a digital map provided as part of check in process) would be helpful for first timers. I do hope to come back to try again to this incredible place, super close to Matthiesen and Starved Rock State Parks."

"This is a great place to stay at the price point. The room was quiet. Never heard neighbors or traffic. Conveniently located near grocery, gas, and restaurants. Yes, the room and facility could use some rehab. But the value is great."

"I wasn’t sure what to expect but Ottawa did not disappoint and we had such a stellar stay at this VRBO apartment! The rental was clean and every detail thought through to make our stay the best it could be. Carmen was very detailed and timely with all instructions and even stopped by to meet us (by coincidence). . We would totally stay here again! Also…starved rock was worth the walk!"

"I have to say, this was such an incredible stay. Everything was amazing from our host being extremely communicative, helpful, accommodating, and nice to the incredible property from the chickens, to the beautiful and functional kitchen, and the amazing den with windows and skylights. The whole play is family friendly and we enjoyed playing some of the games left. Everything was so clean and so well later out and we were very grateful for the overview packet left for all guests. We were so close to all the state parks! I cannot recommend this property and its host enough!"

Great Location! Walking Distance to So Much!

"The host, Kim, was accommodating and easy to communicate with. I asked for early check-in and later check-out (within reason), and since the place was not rented to others, she graciously accepted.The townhouse was clean and supplied with all the stated accessories. Perhaps, a little more dishwashing fluid and bathroom soaps would be great.The neighborhood was quite during our stay and the townhouse was conveniently located within a walking distance of downtown Ottawa.The only reason I rated it 4/5 was the kitchen cabinets and the doors to the 2nd floor bathroom and the closets were quite old, and some didn't work well. Bathroom door handle and lock need to be repaired."

Magnificent Riverfront Victorian House steps from downtown Ottawa !

"The house was beautiful and in a great location. The history of the home and decor was amazing. I went here with my husband's side of his dad's family. There was 12 of us. Perfect number of rooms and beds for all of us. Beautiful view of the lake. There are 3 refrigerators, 4.5 baths, 2 laundry facilities, and 4 sitting areas. Only 1 bedroom on the main floor and the rest upstairs. I would like a way to go to the water from the backyard but it was fine. The view was spectacular. Need to know - temp needs to be set to 74 in the summer, strip all sheets from beds used before checking out, wash all loads over 3 (sheets and towels but wash separately), take all trash out. Other than making sure all laundry was done for the house, we all really loved staying at this house and hope to stay here in the future!!!If you are looking for a queit, relaxing, and tranquil place to stay, this house is perfect. I highly recommend this house as a place to stay near Starved Rock, IL."
