"Pousada D’ Areia was excellent. When we arrived everyone was very welcoming. We were checked in very efficiently. The rooms were very clean and organized. The breakfast was delicious, and had a nice variety. The manager Vânia made my wife’s birthday very special, by decorating our room per request. And all of the staff were very helpful, and friendly."

"This is a very basic posada in a great location within easy walking distance to the river district. AC and WiFi worked well during my stay. The on-site staff were helpful and tolerant of my lack of Portuguese. Breakfast was nothing extravagant but just fine."

"Terrible room. Not even one Chair to seat or a sofá. no drowers for clothing or a place to Hang clothes….. nothing at all . Had to put my stuff on the floor. When we arrived they informed us that the pool would be close. In fact it was closed until the day we left. Room had no window, basically a jail Cell !!! Absolutely terrible room. At least the staff was very nice"

"For the price, this is a great stay. Warm water, tasty breakfast, nice view—COMFY BED. I think the reviews here are a bit harsh but that being said, not even your greatest friend will give you sheets that are so stained that you question its cleanliness. I think the only advice I can give this location is to make sure the sheets APPEAR just as clean as they (hopefully) are.
