"We stayed two nights at the property and everything was great! The entire property was clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the waterfront views and access, and the outdoor pool. The bonfire with s'mores and fireworks was also a nice touch. Can't wait to book again!"

"We had a room that out looked Lake Huron and the kids (13 and 13) live the pool area and the beach area at Lake Huron they played in the water you just need swim shoes or Crocs to be in the water due to all the rocks at the shoreline. Would stay here again. Breakfast isn't great for selections but the staff was very helpful. Rooms were very clean."

"quite pricy and no breakfast included. Right on the water . loads of parking. casino attached, but had no luck. Turned out to be the most expensive night of my two week driving vacation. (even the gas was high, $4.54 / gal)"
Historic Birch Lodge and Motel

"Nice view of Trout Lake and we liked the kayaks and rowboats provided. Birch Lodge is a large historic building and the owners have spent time and money bringing up to it’s current state. We loved the porch with rockers and flowers. Nice touch. The motel is super clean and well preserved. The overall property is a great little secret. My only complaint would be the lack of local restaurants. Food choices are limited."

"The room was very clean. Property an outdated but very friendly staff. The swimming pool nor the whirlpool. Daily consisted of pancakes, sausage, eggs, variety of bread, products, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and juices, as well as coffee and teas. A wonderful feature was that Sheppler had a Shuttle that would pick you up from your hotel and drop you off to get the ferry to Mackinac, which was super nice and saved you the $15 daily parking."
