Located in the heart of the fascinating town of Palazzolo Acreide (a World Heritage Site since 2002), Villa Akrai is uniquely situated to offer guests both access to city life and as a refuge of tranquility. Its large fenced garden features an antique well to collect rain water, a plethora of fruit trees, and an inviting salt water pool, and a furnished terrace for al fresco dining. The owner lovingly and carefully restored this ancient Sicilian mansion, and as a result, the interiors are warm and cozy, with a comfortable feeling of home. Much care was made to respect the villa\'s historical context and architectural traditions. A stay at Villa Akrai offers immediate access to all the treasures the charming town of Palazzolo Acreide has to offer; local cafés, traditional Sicilian restaurants, lively open markets, baroque churches, seasonal festivals, etc.4 Night Minimum stay at Villa Akrai.The property has two entrances: one is in the backyard, reachable with the car (directly from the main paved street) and leading to the kitchen area, where there’s a low step to enter into the villa, through the French door of the kitchen; the other entrance is located at the front of the villa, which is elevated from the main road, therefore there are at least 20 steps to reach the entrance door of the villa. We suggest using the backyard entrance to leave the luggage and to anyone with walking difficulties. The entire villa develops along the ground floor, which makes it suitable also for anyone with walking difficulties.

The living area includes the lounge with fireplace and comfortable furniture, a dining area with seating for up to 12 guests, and a fully-equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, toaster, gas stove, dishwasher, Illy coffee machine, fridge/freezer). Each of the three bedrooms are soundproof (new windows with the most recent technology), and equipped with air conditioning, desk, flat screen Satellite TV, sitting area, Illy coffee machine, tea pot, fridge (with complementary bottles of water), and ensuite bathroom. For extra comfort, the bathrooms are fitted with a wide chromo-therapy and hydro-massage shower, bathrobes, slippers, hair-dryer, and courtesy set of products by Ferragamo.The bedrooms are all suite-style, each with a different flavor:Suite One is a quadruple loft bedroom with one double French bed on the ground floor and one double bed in the loft. The bedroom features its own terrace (approx. 15 sqm) with table and chairs and a view on the inner courtyard.

Suite Two offers a king-size bed and a functioning antique scenic stone bathtub (as well as ensuite shower room). It also features a private winter garden with table and chairs.

Suite Three has a double bed and the option for a third person in the single sofa bed.As a result of the many fascinating buildings in Baroque style, Palazzolo Acreide was incorporated in the list of The World Heritage in 2002. Its geographical position provides a great starting point for a variety of trips and excursions. One of the \"must do\" trips, for example, is a visit to the Valley of the Stone Water Mills, all still perfectly working and immersed in unspoiled creeks and small lakes. Strategically, the town is equidistant from the must-see, beautiful towns of Syracuse, Noto, Ragusa, Modica and Caltagirone. For those guests who prefer not to drive along the narrow Sicilian roads, an option to hire a local driver/guide is available upon request.
