A lovely family-run hotel that has a warm and joyful vibe. The owners, their little girl serving tables on a busy night, absolutely everyone made me feel welcomed and cared for. As a vegetarian, the very kind owners prepared dishes suitable to my diet. The swimming pool was clean, refreshing and set in a serene setting. Even the guests were friendly and courteous. I recommend this hotel highly and will be returning every chance I get. A staff member even loaned me her special glasses to view the...

If I could give more than five stars, I would. Château Hôtel Edward 1er is, without question, one of the finest places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and exceptional hospitality. The staff made us feel at home from the very first minute. The property is simply stunning. Rich in history, beautifully restored, impeccably maintained, and incredibly elegant, it perfectly blends luxury with authenticity. Everything is spotless, and even the...

Can't recommend highly enough. Jean Francois & Joelle were fabulous hosts with a wonderful property that they have finished to perfection.

Beautiful niche hotel in a quiet town in the lovely Perigord region. Centrally located with easy daytime excursions to the various places of interest. Hotel offers everything you need, parking, quiet, excellent restaurant, knowledgeable concierge and a spacious room and bath, even a large balcony. Only downside was that no restaurant in town would open for dinner before 7pm. But when they open, the food is fantastic.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They are welcoming and the property is so beautiful and peaceful.

Our stay was excellent. Alexander met us when we drove in and showed us around the property. Our room was roomy and nicely furnished. The bathroom was large. Eveything looked quite new. The breakfast was out of this world. For us the location was excellent for our visit to the National Museum of Prehistory.

The hotel is well appointed, the rooms large, and the Proprietor, who spoke excellent English, was very helpful. The room we had, admittedly the cheapest option, had a strange layout, with the toilet across a small double bed from the rest of the bath. Worst of all, there was only a tub, 3 feet off the floor, with a handheld shower nozzle-- which is hard for an older couple. Also, the location was many long, winding, 2-lane roads from most of the sights you come to the Perigord to see. As we had...

Try the foie gras at the restaurant-fabulous! Breakfasts were delicious as well.

The staff was very welcoming and more than helpful. When we found ourselves in a bind because we needed fuel and the only service stations open were automated (which don't accept American credit cards), the hostess went with us and used her personal credit card to get us on the road again. (We paid her back with cash.)

The staff was friendly and engaging, and the property grounds are just lovely - sandstone patios and walks leading into views of the village cliffs.

This place was absolutely wonderful. Clean and comfortable, beautiful surroundings and our hosts couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. Great breakfast, too. Close to many villages as well as Sarlat, without being in the thick of the city. Would definitely stay there again if I return.

We had such a wonderful stay at La Sarlamandre. Our hosts, Stéphy and Séb were so kind and welcoming from the start. The rooms are very clean and feel brand new. Breakfast was delicious with homemade jams and cake. Everything was so perfect and their attention to detail made our stay so comfortable. We really felt at home. We were so sad to leave and wish we could’ve stayed longer! Merci beaucoup!
