There were hiking trails to waterfalls, great views, and opportunities to see wildlife. Additionally the room was spectacular and the onsite restaurant was one I will definitely come back for. "Aloha! We were kindly greeted by Esteban at the front desk. We booked a room with a mountain view and it did not disappoint. Our room was clean and comfortable. There was not a fridge in the room but the front desk will store them in the restaurant refrigerator if you would like. Though it was remotely located the place offered everything we needed including amazing food at the restaurant. We had breakfast daily, lunch and 2 dinner on 2 occasions. Our compliments to the chefs Patricia and Merlin. Jason and Alejandro provided excellent service. The hotel was within walking distance for ticket and transportation to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The hotel offers a shuttle to town every hour, until 1:30 pm, for $2 USD each. The last shuttle from town to the hotel is at 2 pm. The hotel can call a taxi, if needed, for $12 USD one way. In town you can find a taxi in front of the church. "The Rancho de Lelo was AMAZING! When we arrived, Beatriz was so kind to us and very helpful. She helped us planning activities and she recommended restaurants. It was probably the best welcome that we ever experienced at a hotel! The Rancho is located on a great property. It's beautiful, peaceful and very quiet! It's a family-owned hotel. They even have their own coffee plantation. The rooms are private "cabanas", so cabin style. The breakfast is delicious. The pool has nice clean natural water (no chlorine). There are very friendly dogs on the property and they were my son's trip highlight in Monteverde! The Rancho is located about 25 min from Santa Elena, the nearest town. The views from the town to the Rancho are absolutely stunning!"

"Henry was a terrific host. He gave us lots of advice on restaurants and attractions nearby and he responded quickly to any questions we had. The house was nicely situated on the ocean - we sat under the veranda watching the waves roll in, the lightning strike and the ships go by. There was everything we needed in the house. It was a bit out of the way - quite far from Monteverde for example. We rented a car and would have been lost without it.We missed the sunsets because of the weather so will have to come back again!"
