"Solid stay. But inconvenienced by the filming of The Statement while we were there. Had no prior notification or agreement to such conditions. Pros: -beautiful property and private access beach -excellent restaurant and service at the Society Table -Great pool (the one we had access to; other was closed due to above) minus one point below -Fitness center and classes -Kid friendly -housekeeping top notch -Variety of stores-ice cream/candy store was a hit with my kids Cons -smallish rooms and bathrooms -lax rules regarding poolside eating/drinking (depends on your perspective) but swimming in a pool with spilt frozen drinks and greasy fingers from chicken tenders and fries isn’t exactly my idea of a refreshing pool -slow / limited elevators Would I recommend? Yes but make sure there’s no special events such as above going on. "

"The bathroom door got stuck and wont close or open as soon as I entered the room. Had to call maintenance to get it fixed, even after that the door wouldn't close properly and my kid had a hard time closing it for the reminder of the vacation. Definitely not a 4 star hotel with the amenities, there is no exhaust in the bath and the pipes are flimsy, the towel holder broke, not enough lighting in the room, checked another room and there was an extra tall table lamp which wasn't there for whatever reason in my room. Positives were the housekeeping and maintenance were prompt with their services and cleaning was done daily. Apart from that, lots of areas for improvement and isnt worth the cost. "

"we had an amazing experience, such a gem! the property was really well maintained & the staff was incredibly kind. it was the perfect beach getaway! photos don’t do it justice. only thing I would critique was the beds could have been comfier, but it wouldn’t prevent me from coming back for the price we paid. "Never again. They have a parking fee in little ole Palmetto, FL. This is a town that doesn’t even charge for street parking! The resort fee is a joke. I’ve seen management reply and try to defend this resort fee to other reviewers, I don’t buy it. The hotel is not on the ocean and not on the River. They claim to supply fishing poles. For the cost of the rooms, this should never have been added. I will never be back and will let everyone we know about these extra fees. Shame on the owners of this hotel. When I checked to see if all Marriott’s charged resort fees, I got this response from Google. No, not all Marriott hotels charge a resort fee. Only a minority of the over 8,300 properties—fewer than 300—levy these fees, which are often called "destination" or "amenity" fees. Mandatory resort fees, ranging from daily, are generally found at leisure-focused resorts, not standard business hotels."

"Not much of a breakfast. Cheap and not cheerful. The coffee is awful. I love a coffee in the morning but this was hot water, well warm, with a few sprinkles of coffee. They run out of hot water to make tea and Swiss Miss hit chocolate mix. Don’t make your decision on their fake breakfast. Pool bar staff absolutely delightful. "
