"This is a cracking flat within a short walk of Dumfries town centre. From the outside, the flats don’t look too inspiring, but it’s clearly been renovated recently and it’s been done really nicely. The two rooms are pretty much identical doubles, and the living room/kitchen is a good size. Nice views of the river from most rooms, and a lovely small balcony coming off the main living area. Would definitely come back if in the area."

"Good property in a great location, excellent grounds and access to the beach which the dogs loved. Good quality kitchen , just missing a small welcome pack which we normally have when we go for a cottage stay, its always useful. Bedrooms were a bit basic and didn’t like not having a full shower, some small details need to be looked at, curtains in lounge with mis- matched or broken curtain rings. Overall we had a great stay in a lovely part of Scotland."

"I thought the Kings Arms was an excellent country pub for an overnight stay. Staff very friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the restaurant and bar as well."

"I would suggest that the procedure of self service specifically with the fries, mushrooms, bacon etc .should be carefully changed. While having breakfast I was aware of a guest sneezing six times into her hands (no handkerchief or similar being used) then I noticed she proceeded to help herself to the fries section. In other word it is quite possible that this lady therefore infected all the serving utensils she touched and therefore there was the possibility of infecting nearly everyone in the dining room. Certainly a couple of self service hand sanitizers would not go amiss. I would certainly use one of the handy napkins at hand. It is something that I think should be given some thought. Matthew Sneddon"

"Parking was in the street outside the hotel and not a problem. The room was large and spacious and the bathroom was spacious with a great overhead shower. The bar was very large and plenty of room in the restaurant. Best to book a table as it gets busy with locals. The staff were very helpful, attentive and the menu had a good selection and the food was very great. Can recommend the fish and chips or the Sea bass. The breakfast was in the restaurant and cooked to order with plenty to choose from. The Ship Inn has a beer gardens just across the road with views over the river. It’s also a short walk to the town/village and the old Mill is well worth visiting as it has a good history of the town and a nice cafe. I would also recommend driving towards the small war memorial and then taking the road sign posted to a parking area with amazing views across the area. Although the stay was a bit pricy I would have no problem staying again if in the area."

"Lovely well kept grounds,comfortable beds,helpful staff and food decent enough. Nice walk into town centre. I would like a better light for nighttime reading and a bigger television(visual impairment) My 3rd time staying here while visiting the D and G hospital and I would happily stay here again."

"I think it was the third time I have stayed here and as in the previous occasions I have nothing negative to say about it. My single room was spacious, the shower was good, the bed nice and firm. I didn't have my room serviced each day by choice but was asked if I wanted it to be. The hospitality tray was topped up well too. Breakfast was plentiful so yes all good."
