Parador De Monforte De Lemos
10/10 Excellent
"The place is spectacular. The staff was very helpful. Could benefit from a good cleaning. The food was terrible. We have eaten some very nice meals in many paradores but here, no can do. Even the food in the cafeteria was mediocre. It is a pity bcs it is very convenient to be able to eat right there. Needs improvement."
Historic holiday home with pool ideal for families in the Ribeira Sacra

"The farmhouse and grounds are absolutely beautiful with some of the best views you will ever see. The house was spotlessly clean and the kitchen very well equipped. However, we did miss a microwave but we soon learned to live without one!! The communication with our hosts was exemplary, they even offered to purchase fans for us if we required them (the house is so cool inside it wasn’t necessary). The outside space was lovely, covered in grape vines and lit with multi-coloured bulbs. The pool is beautiful and the surrounding grass smells of mint when you walk on it. Sun loungers look directly over the stunning valley.Parada de Sil is an 11 minute drive away where there are a few restaurants to choose from (1pm-4pm lunch & 8pm - 10pm roughly for dinner) - Candea was our favourite.The town of Ourense is an easy one hour drive away and we spent a night on the Atlantic Coast (2.5 hr drive).We had a very relaxing holiday in the most stunning location. Would definitely recommend visiting this relatively undiscovered part of Spain if you would like a complete change from hectic cities. STUNNING!"
Parador de Santo Estevo

"The setting is fantastic, almost on a mountain top. The hotel is an old monastery with 3ft wide walls and wonderful views of nature. They have a full spa to relax. We took one of the many walking routes around the hotel. Highly recommend if you like hiking through tons of greenery. The temperature was warm during the day and cool at night. All personnel we interacted with was very helpful and amicable. I recommend contacting the hotel directly if you are not driving from Ourense, our navigator got a bit confused."

"We loved our big room with a wraparound balcony and a nice bathroom and shower. The view was beautiful and Allariz was a nice, small town with a lot to do. Breakfast was also well appointed and yummy and the staff was helpful."
