"This property is very expensive. Let's get that out of the way right off. But my wife and I were super-impressed by the friendly staff. A gentleman escorted us around the hotel while other folks brought our bags to the room. Very nice attendant in the spa. The staff was gracious enough to speak to my wife in French, as she preferred. The room was full of super-nice extras, e.g., lots of electrical sockets (which is often not the case in historical hotels), rich carpeting, thoughtful lighting,...

"The staff were friendly and helpful for the most part. The rooms are cute but need a deep cleaning. For an average cost of $1,000 a night I expect my room to be in prestige condition. It was not. The furniture and rugs were filthy. Also, the staff twice entered my room after a quick knock. One was checking to see if the room had been cleaned and the other one insisted he needed to check the mini bar stock. I was in bed half dressed taking a rest at 3pm. The level of unprofessional was baffling....
