"The staff were very efficient and friendly during check-in. The hotel itself was in a good location, right above the metro "Republique" but was old and not all rooms seemed to have had the refurbishment that was shown in the photos advertising the rooms. It was not sound-proof as we could hear the running of water in the pipes, the rumbling of the underground trains despite windows closed and could hear the shower of the adjacent room too. The bed was comfortable and cosy. The bathroom shower was very small but good shower head pressure. Overall, an OK experience, not such great value for money. Staff compensated us for lack of towels on arrival to the room by giving 5 towels for the 2 of us!"

"As first time visitors to Paris from Canada, we had a positive experience at Le Grand Quartier. The hotel provided a clean, safe and comfortable stay which allowed us to fully enjoy the sights. "This is a great option if you are traveling on a budget and looking for a basic, clean room. This is definitely a no frills hotel, but the room was spotless and the staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The location was great - close to the metro, Montmarte attractions and Sacre Coeur. Not fancy but clean and efficient. The room I had was renovated as well, so even though the hotel itself and the common spaces appeared quite dated, the room itself and the bathroom fixtures were new. Would stay again - good bang for your buck."

"I stayed for 6 nights in one of the single rooms w/view. This is definitely not an American chain hotel- and it is exactly what I wanted. The staff were great, my room was huge by most Paris standards and the view was as promised. There is a small elevator and AC - tho I had no need in late April. There are lots of places to eat and several grocery shops near. I’m definitely looking forward to my next stay. "
