Walked right across street for good food, and several others a short walk or drive away...local businesses who care about your service ( not chain restaurants).
Would stay here again whenever in area!

I wish I had more time to stay in this beautiful B&B. The accommodations were exquisite, and everything was well-run and well-kept. I took a chance to stay there since the more recent reviews were terrible, but all of the others were top-notch. I am so happy that I listened to my intuition. The property, inside and out, was beyond my expectations, and I will definitely be staying there again. Ann Marie and Joe are excellent hosts, and Joe even cooked an amazing breakfast!!! The staff at the Comfort Inn are wonderful. The rooms are clean and quiet. Everything works and the shampoo and soap is good. Breakfast is included (nothing special). The coffee in the room is good and included and there is always half and half available. You can walk to Applebee's. Shaws is a quick drive across the street and there is a gas station close by.

It is a handsome property, originally a farmhouse built in 1791.
The food was excellent, a different menu for breakfast and dinner every day, stressing local produce as much as possible. Good bar, with 1st class wine list & cocktail selection.
First class linens (Supima cotton on bed) and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Plenty of bathroom linens.

COVID-19 times, so happy that they were open. Older property but clean and well maintained. Generous Continental breakfast. I usually don't like to stay in a motor court property that has a door directly on the lot, but during this crisis, I am happy to trade off physical secuity of a common entance with the Social Distance of my own door!! Very friendly staff.

Elsa and Chad are the best! :) They are the new managers of Highland Lodge, and they could not be more delightful! Caspian Lake is terrific (mere steps away), and the lodge provides all manner of kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and more. There is tennis and walking trails and every activity you and your family could want!

We stayed at the Franconia Inn in mid-November and it was a perfect stay! This area is very rural and the inn offers one of the only restaurants in the region, which made meals very easy. Thank you for offering take out to our room!! Our room itself was adorable, not at all a stuffy B&B, and it was relaxing hanging out by the multiple fireplaces and in the game room. The property is gorgeous and you feel a million miles away while still being in the center of everything. Will be back again!
