Seated on a hilltop La Macchia has extensive views across an archetypal Valdera countryside of rolling vineyards, olive groves and Tuscan wooded areas. The resorts stucco villa was reconstructed into five apartments and an annex apartment for holiday rentals, each has modern fittings and their own outdoor dining area. The Valdera is known for a cooling afternoon breeze from the coast and stunning golden sunsets, at this resort you will not be disappointed.



La Macchia is less than 5 km away from two towns with locally sourced products and amenities. For those who can tear themselves away from the vistas, you will find Casciana Thermal baths, Volterra, San Gimignano and the Tuscan coast all within easy reach for a day trip. The resident resort manager is on hand so you can sample La Macchia's organic first press olive oil, wines and seasonal vegetables.

Our stay was superb. The Oleander apartment was perfect, great location and everything was of a clean and very high standard. The beds were lovely and comfy with crisp cotton sheets, ideal for the temperatures we had. Rita was a great host explaining all to us and was on the end of the phone should we need help. A complementary bottle of the estate rose wine was also provided, a nice touch with fresh bread and pastries delivered each morning
