Panoramic sea views overlooking the beach – on the South West Coast Path

Vessacks is a family holiday home in Porthcurno, Cornwall, with panoramic views over the sea from practically every room. It sleeps up to 8 people and is ideal for young and grown-up families, groups of friends and couples.

With several beaches a short walk away, and the South West Coastal Path passing the house, Vessacks well situated for summer beach holidays and out-of-season stays for walking and exploring.

Nearby attractions include the South West Coast Path, Porthchapel, Porthcurno and Pedney beaches, Porthgwarra Cove, the Minack Theatre & the PK Museum of Global Communications. Boat and foraging tours can be booked, as can surf lessons at nearby Sennen. Some excellent restaurants and pubs can be found in the neighbourign areas, including Newlyn, Mousehole, Sennen and Penzance.

West Penwith is naturally wild with steep cliffs, sheltered beaches and coves, and an unusual variety of plant life due to its mild and humid climate. There's lots of wildlife to be spotted in the sea, sky and on the ground, which will please birdwatchers and nature buffs.

Great accommodation ticking all the right boxes required to make your stay enjoyable, good beds, bed linen, seating, bathroom facilities and kitchen. The views from the lounges looking out to sea are outstanding. The location is also great if you like costal walks with plenty of paths either to the left or right. We would recommend this property to our friends and family and look forward to another visit in the near future.

House is spacious, comfortable and in an unbeatable location. Had 2 weeks of sheer bliss - lots of walks along the coast and down to the beaches with plenty of swimming, pasties, cream teas and ice cream on the way. Also visited the PK Telegraph museum which was an unexpected treasure.

A wonderful week and the most spectacular views of the sea due to the weather conditions. No need to go out really as we felt that we were already in prime position and a very short walk to the coastal path. Spacious house with all needs meet,... and again... the best views of the sea from the comfort of a chair whilst enjoying a cup of tea. Will definitely go again!

Loved our stay at Vessacks. Katherine, the host, was brilliant at quickly replying to my many, many queries and (as someone who has lots of allergies) it was great to find a truly dog-free house. The house is beautifully situated, with nature so close by - we saw a charm of 26 goldfinch in the hedges one day and a badger on several evenings. Even though a few days were stormy the house was lovely and warm, clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for a perfect holiday. We would love to return some day.

Vessacks is a fantastic property in an amazing location. Whether you enjoy hiking, wildlife watching, exploring the beach or simply just staring out of the windows, Vessacks has it all. Each window has a slightly different view of the surroundings, we did many laps around the house, its like staying in an art gallery! The Property Manager was very friendly, easily contactable and keen to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay.

We knew that we were in for a treat when we read the reviews beforehand, but it proved to be even better than we imagined - stunning views; spacious, comfortable & well-equipped accommodation; wildlife 'on the doorstep' (seals, choughs, two stags & hinds & various birds of prey during our stay); easy access to the coast path; places to visit locally (we enjoyed seeing a production at the Minack Theatre & visiting the Global Communications Museum) &, of course, many more locations to explore further afield. It proved a real wrench to leave at the end of our holiday - we were truly entranced by the magic of Vessacks & would love to return one day.

Vessacks is situated in the most beautiful spot: perched on the edge of the village, overlooking the sea, it has a big place in our hearts. It only takes a few minutes to get to the little cove from the house (harness your inner mountain goat!) and there you are, on a very uncrowded, sandy beach. It is easy to walk to a larger beach, down the hill at Porthcurno (or across the clifftop path) and of course Penzance, St Michael's Mount, St Ives, all are within easy reach. It's an absolute gem, sadly now extremely expensive, but a truly lovely place to stay.

Vessacks is the most perfect holiday destination. The owner was unbelievably attentive, kind and communication was first class. Views are incredible, the sea, wildlife, the most wonderful place to unwind and relax. Clean, modern, top class tranquil accommodation with every facility you could ever wish for. Rooms having stunning views, are very spacious and luxurious. Walks are just a step outside the front door. We will, without a doubt recommend to friends and family, and hope to return very soon. Thank you very much Vessacks.

Not only has it been fun to talk to Peter on the phone before the final booking and being checked up by Katherine while we stayed there, the house is a dream come true! Furnished to very high standards with lovely details all over and very spacious (the kids played being trains and postmen running marathons around the staircase and the "inner rooms"). Didn't need the TVs since the stunning view had us transfixed from day one. It is the perfect place for - days at the beach (seals might pop by!) - long (or short) hikes - visits to Minack Theatre or just hanging out reading a book. We hope to be able to come back!

We and our friends, a total 8 people between the age of 14 and 52, had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful house with these lovely and stunning views for 2 weeks. Eveything was perfect, from the very well equipped kitchen to the clean and modern bathrooms and the bedrooms with most comfortable beds. The communication with Katherine was always uncomplicated, very friendly and extremly helpful. Exploring Cornwall and its many picturesque villages, coves and beaches made our holiday a very special and rememberable one! We recommend the Vessacks to all who are looking for a relaxing and unforgettable vacation, away from the hustle and bustle of this world :-) Thank you for a wonderful stay and till the next time! Exactly like the pictures, the cottage has magnificent views. Lovely and clean and Peter, the owner, was most attentive, calling us to check everything was working and as we expected.Vessacks is in an ideal location for the Minack Theatre, which we visited for two performances, walking there quite easily. Porthchaple Beach is nearby and requires sturdy shoes to access. We also visited Pedn Vounder beach, which requires your inner mountain goat skills to get down to! The roads are not for the feint hearted and can be quite challenging depending on the size of your car. All in all we had a lovely week here and have made lots of fond memories

We have been returning annually to this property for over 10 years and it never fails to inspire with its special magic. It is the perfect setting for our many memorable holidays with glorious expansive sea views. For us time stretches out here and we never want to leave. This house is most comfortable with every amenity. The three separate sitting rooms provide generous space for our large family. There is always a place for peacefulness and solitude as well as noise and fun. We found the bedrooms spacious, clean and so comfortable. Three of the bedrooms provide those wonderful views into the turquoise waters below. The large picture windows in the main sitting room and the sun room with windows on three sides are favourite spots to commune with nature, the weather and seascapes. But the views, comfort and tranquil space are only part of the reason we return regularly. Badgers, foxes, birds, glow worms and other wildlife are always close by. We saw basking sharks on three successive years in the Porthchapel waters just below the house. Seals and porpoises are regular visitors as well. I enjoy the beauty of the wildflowers along the coastal paths, so profuse in June. Our binoculars are always to hand and there is always a great deal to see and observe. Vessacks is real Cornwall and we love it! P.S. The owner kindly organised free entry into the Telegraph museum which gave a very interesting picture of local and telecommunications history.

In all honesty I'm reluctant to leave such an honest review as this beautiful house feels a bit like a secret that we've been lucky enough to borrow and the more that people know about it the less chance we will have of being lucky enough to revisit it. However that would be a mean thing to do. The setting is incredible, the views take your breath away, if like us you have a thing about the sea you will never want to leave. Gorgeous comfortable beds and luxury bedding, kitchen fully equipped with everything you could possible require., beautifully fitted out bathrooms. The children had a sitting room each and there were still two incredible spaces for the grown ups to relax in, the favourite being the little sun room with ever present sea views. Sunrise and sunset from here was amazing. The large utility room was perfect for post surf showers and drying wetsuits and towels. We were so lucky with the sunshine every day and explored the local area it's within easy walking distance of the Minack theatre and we also ventured further along the coastal path to Logan Rock and Lands end on the other direction. The telegraph museum was fantastic if you get a chance to go try and catch one of the talks that puts it all into context. Great place. There is a fantastic pub at Logan Rock food was wonderful and a proper log fire, cosy place to warm up after a brisk walk along the coast. We went surfing in Sennen had lessons with the Smart surf school, drove to Lizard Point and Kynance cove and St Michael's Mount all spectacular places to visit. All in all we have thoroughly enjoyed our week exploring this far point of Cornwall and would happily return again there is still so much to see and do and the house cannot be faulted. Location Location Location....for anyone with the urge to feel like they are on the end of the world with nothing in front but sea sea sea.

The house is fantastic! Stunning views in a wonderful location. Super clean, very well equipped and comfortable with everything you need. We enjoyed watching the boats and ships passing by and the birds. Walking paths nearby are excellent. The owner was incredibly kind and responsive. We were all extremely happy being there with no complaints.

Hands down the best holiday house I've stayed in. It was a real wrench to leave. An utterly blissful week. We came as a family of four (two children under 4), with my sister and mother joining us for a spell. Everybody loved it! Especially the dramatic reveal of the views on the first morning. Vessacks had everything we could wish for in terms of amenities, games, tools and books. Its crowning jewel is its stunning views straight out to the ocean. The house is right on the cliff edge and sympathetically laid out to let the sea in at every possible point - try doing the washing-up to a stormy Celtic Sea, a real treat! The house is very clean, with excellent quality furnishings. Lots of interesting adventures close by, too - all thoughtfully laid out in the welcome pack. Katherine is an amazing host, always on hand to answer questions and give us the best possible experience. We love Vessacks!

During my stage in Cornwall, where I stayed in the absolutly stunning house at Vessacks, I had an accident and the help of Kathrine and her service team was just incredible! Thank you so much, dear Katherine and Shay for all your support! Vessacks was the best place to be in a difficult situation! Love Barbara
