Grand Canyon of the East, in the Adirondack Mountains. Can walk the rim, do an Adventure Course, or raft/tube the Chasm.
Rafting or tubing the Chasm
Visited here with my boys (10 yr old twins) and my parents. The chasm is a really impressive sandstone gorge with a river running through it. It is fed by the Rainbow Falls, which is gorgeous. You get a great view of the falls from the start of the hike. We did the walk down the interior of the chasm (they call it the 'inner sanctum') and then took a raft ride, which was wetter than we expected!
