"Heaps of room for off street parking, Bathroom anf kitchenette rundown, Bed must of been broken or something creaked everytime o moved and mattress sunk right down into base"

"We were only planning to stay one night at Ava lodge before traveling to Tongariro. But due to cyclone Vaianu we called Ava lodge and Joe was able to extend our stay a couple extra nights. Ava lodge was very nice, modern, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Joe for helping us out 😀"

"The property is clean but needs lots more TLC. The bathroom looks quite new and the kitchen was in good condition also. Having a hot plate and cooking equipment was nice but would have liked a table and chairs to sit at to eat. The front door was old, draughty and generally very flimsy and not secure. There is no noise insultion, so you can hear your neighbours quite clearly. Its one of 3 motels on the road and you have to collect keys at a different location. Not a place I would recommend."

"This is a former lodge converted into a home large space with interior decorations depicting its heritage. The interior is of high quality and a recently renovated bathroom and (well appointed ) kitchen. The main street (Jackson) is a short walk away."
