"It was not crowded and we had the entire building with (8) cabins to ourselves Room service however was non-existent, perhaps Trump budget cuts???"

"Visited the farmhouse last weekend with my mother, husband, sister-in-law and two dogs. The main purpose of the trip was just to have a little getaway to do something with Mom at a location where our 14 month old Australian Shepherd would have plenty of room to run around. We all had a wonderful time, especially our pup, who played to her heart’s content. Communication with the host was outstanding! And the inside of the house was immaculately clean. While we enjoyed having 16 acres available to us, it is worth noting that the majority of the property is wooded with a lot of tall grass and at the time of year we were traveling ticks were a huge issue. So unfortunately, after pulling a bunch of ticks off of ourselves and our dogs, we really limited ourselves to the front yard, which was more than adequate. Of course the tick situation was no one‘s fault. Nature is nature. It’s just worth noting, and during other months of the year would not be a concern at all. I might even consider returning in the winter to enjoy the fire pits and snowy trails with the dog."

"We were a group of friends satyed here in May and we enjoyed our stay. The home was clean and nice and check-in was smooth. We enjoyed the fire pit at the lower end of the property. There is a steep gravel driveway that might be difficult to drive up when wet. It was not an issue for us."

"Can’t say enough good things about my stay here. The house was spotless, comfortable, and had everything I needed. I like to cook while on vacation and the kitchen had all of the essentials - pots and pans of various sizes and casserole dishes. I had my dog with me and being so close to Lake Arrowhead Park was great. You’re literally across the street from it and I was able to take the pooch for his morning walkie there. The house is 10 minutes away from Luray’s downtown area which had great spots to grab a quick bite, beer, or coffee. It was maybe 15 minutes from the entrance to Shenandoah where I did a lot of hiking. It was nice to be able to come back to the house after a long day of hiking and kick back in the cozy loft area to watch a movie. The owners were very responsive and kind. Can’t think of a single thing I didn’t love about my stay. Can’t wait to go back! "

"Beautiful property, big yard, really nice space. Quick drive to the Thornton Gap park entrance. This was a great place to rest and relax after exploring the park all day. Nice kitchen, with everything you need. We had no cell reception and there is no WiFi (fine with us), so we relied on board games & cable TV for entertainment, which was plenty. "

"Nice, peaceful farmhouse with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Close to vineyards and quaint villages with great restaurants, however the best thing about it is its proximity to the Old Rag Mountain trailhead. If you're planning to do that hike, this home is just a short walk to the trailhead so you won't have to worry about the parking issues, and after the hike, the hot tub on the home's deck is heavenly! Wonderful place for a wonderful get away!"

"We had a great time at the Spidey Lodge! Excellent location for visiting Shenandoah National Park being about 15 minutes from the central entrance. We only stayed a couple nights, but could have easily stayed a few more. Host was extremely responsive and showed interest in ensuring we had a good experience. Overall fantastic stay!"
