"The unit that is separate from the house is not suitable for 4 people as advertised. The sofa bed is downstairs and whoever is using it would need to go upstairs and through the open plan bedroom to use the bathroom. It might work for young children/family but not 4 adults. Despite advertising as sleeps 4 when we went to go to bed and pulled out the sofa bed we discovered it was not made - there was no spare bedding/blankets/pillows. I needed to give my adult son my blanket and use towels to keep warm. the next day they brought sheets and had the gardener make up the bed - when we returned again there was no blanket so another night with towels..........My adult son is 35 years old - they check passports yet the host did not question about the second bed - he was a charming man but perhaps did not want to cause himself work. other than that gorgeous garden as mentioned in other reviews."

"From the time we walked in the door, the hostess this behind the counter who spoke very good english, helped us with all our needs. Although I was just traveling with my wife, this place is an excellent hotel for a larger group. Lots of seating areas, both inside and out. Gorgeous gardens to walk through, with lovely patios everywhere. They have a small bar for cocktails and an excellent breakfast! We chose this hotel for its close proximity to the Valley of the Temples.( only a 20 minute walk or short car ride) Highly recommended hotel."

"Very friendly and helpful owner who goes out of his way to make your stay pleasant. Freshly baked bread and cakes in the morning and an extensive breakfast. Road at the front can have traffic noise and we swapped ours. House is full of antiques and that is either your style or not. Room comfortable with a good bed. Overall quality experience."

"We had a beautiful large bedroom with a lovely frescoed ceiling in an old but clean building. Some tiles in the floor were cracked and older bathroom fixtures but that just added to the charm. Coffee and tea available in lobby in the morning. The location was great, steps from shops and restaurants. Would stay here again."

"The Villa Athena is an amazing luxury hotel with an amazing location. With a direct view of Greek temples, as well as private access, sets this property apart from others. In addition the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We also enjoyed our private balcony with direct access to the property and pool area. The staff was welcoming and attentive. I like the size of the resort as it feels more intimate and personalized. We also took advantage of the amazing restaurant as well. We will definitely return for another stay in the future."
