"The hotel was very nice. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. The beachfront was nice but rocky so bring water shoes. The pool is fantastic. Restaurant offered decent selection and the bar had a good selection too."

"The breakfast buffet definitely poor for a 5 star hotel, I was expecting fresh juices, only had pork, same 3 fruit options everyday and dry pastries. Far better area than Chania. Less crowded and nice access to water events. Great local restaurants. Was quite touristy, but that was not a hindrance. The hotel made the trip.

I didn’t love Platanias - very built up and touristy. Nothing particularly interesting to see or do here, although there are some decent restaurants. With a rental car (a must), you can easily explore Elafonisi Beach and the charming town of Chania.

The area is quit, street is not live as in other parts of crete. The area is better for family trip, not for going out at night
