We were unable to contact her access to property. We spent a lot of time with VRBO customer service, which was very frustrating. We were told that we needed to be at the property at check in time in order to get help rebooking or refund. We were unwilling to travel 4 hours with no secure accomodation. Our group of 4 people are over 70 years old. We tried to contact the host 3 days before, and VRBO attempted to reach her by several methods, so the chance that the host would miraculously show up was quite low. The first VRBO agent told us that if we couldn't access the property, they would refund our payment and they would help us find another property and it would be free. Too good to be true - of course. The next agent we spoke to, we spent a lot of time with. Each time there was a question, we were put on hold. Each time they got back on line, the story got worse. When they told us they may or may not refund our money, depending on the host, and paperwork.
