"LOVED the indoor/outdoor open space of the living areas. Swam in the pool and sat in the sauna every day. Walked down every evening to the small neighborhood beach to watch the sunset. Grilled dinner in the outdoor casita and when we wanted to take surf lessons we headed down to Playa Avellanas. Spent wonderful time at Hacienda Pinilla beach club, which was lovely for swimming, lounging, cocktails and dining. The Vida Pinilla concierge team was excellent and made arrival and activities so easy. So relaxing! Highly recommend The Tides Villa! We’ll be back- Thank you"

"Property was beautiful and spacious as advertised. The living room was comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped. The beds were comfortable and the black out shades were a plus. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The overall area of hacienda pinilla was nicely maintained and some of the best roads we found in Costa Rica. No real markets or restaurants too close, but there are options within a short drive. The JW Marriott also has 4 nice restaurants which appeared to be a little pricey until we ate in Tamarindo, which was also pricey, but not any different than a large US city. Also found out that the JW Marriott restaurants gave 10% off if you mention you were staying in Hacienda Pinilla. Golf course was in a beautiful area, but due to the dry season, the fairways and greens were in poor shape, but they did offer a reduced price. Drive from Liberia was an experience and it seems that Google does not route you through Hacienda Pinilla as it is a gateed community, which makes the drive longer and over a lot of dirt roads. Once we pinned the gate house, we could get in and out of the area much quicker. Overall, I highly recommend this property."

"This was one of the most unique and memorable places we’ve ever stayed.The treehouse feels completely immersed in nature while still being comfortable and thoughtfully designed. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle, soft natural light coming through the windows, and seeing monkeys and parrots right outside was an experience we’ll never forget.The location was incredible — an easy walk to Playa Avellanas beach, restaurants, and local shops, but the property itself felt peaceful, private, and hidden away from everything.We loved the handcrafted details throughout the home. The carved artwork, tropical woodwork, and overall design made the space feel artistic, warm, and authentic to Costa Rica. It truly felt like staying somewhere special instead of a typical vacation rental.The beds were very comfortable, the AC worked great in the bedrooms, and the WiFi was strong enough for remote work and streaming without any issues.One of our favorite parts of the stay was relaxing in the hammocks after long beach walks and sunsets. The entire property has a calm energy that makes it easy to slow down and fully enjoy the experience.Ben was an outstanding host — extremely helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable about the area. He gave us great recommendations and made everything feel easy and welcoming from start to finish.If you’re looking for a peaceful, walkable, nature-filled stay in Playa Avellanas, this place is truly special. We would absolutely stay here again."

"We absolutely loved our stay here and did not want to leave. The property feels like a private tropical retreat right in the heart of Playa Avellanas. Everything was exactly as described, if not better.The location was perfect — an easy walk to the beach, restaurants, and local shops, yet the property itself felt peaceful, quiet, and secluded behind the gated entrance. We especially loved walking through the mangrove boardwalk to the beach every morning and watching the sunsets in the evenings.The home was incredibly comfortable and spacious. The California king beds were amazing, the AC worked perfectly, and the 1500 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets honestly felt like something from a luxury hotel. The house was spotless and thoughtfully designed with beautiful local art and antiques throughout.One thing that surprised us was how relaxing the property felt. We spent hours in the hammocks listening to the sounds of nature, and we saw monkeys and parrots right on the property during our stay.The WiFi was strong enough for remote work and streaming, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The large dining area and extra living space made it perfect for our family to spread out and relax comfortably.Ben was one of the best hosts we’ve ever had — extremely communicative, helpful, and genuinely cared that we had a great experience. "We came to Vida Pinillia for a wedding on 5/2/26. From the very beginning, when the reservations were made, the staff went out of their way to assist us with our needs. They responded quickly to any questions and requests even before we arrived. They gave us food, grocery and local site recommendations. The Villa itself was immaculate with a beautiful open floor plan and the rooms were very clean. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Could not have asked for a better experience. They helped make our wedding a success. Could not say enough good things about this place. The Vida Pinilla team was awesome. We will definitely return.
