"In an attempt to beat all the tourists to Plitvice Lakes, we decided to drive up the night before and stay at the Plitvica Lodge so we would be one of the first to the park when the park opened at 7am. Hotels.com has the hotel listed at the incorrect address (Plitvice Selo 71/3 did not route correctly) so we got lost at 10pm - basically in the middle of nowhere - and thankfully had an international phone plan to call for directions, but roads are not well marked. "Good location for Plitvice hikes. The spa was not open and is really just a sauna. Hot tub was closed due to wind. This definitely had more of a campers hostel site feel vs. A villa, but since we were only staying one night, it wasn't bad. Also, heating and cooling is central, so you don't control it in your room. If we were staying multiple nights I probably would have picked something more upscale."
