By the time I arrived at the Duncraig Castle the sun was in probably the worst position for photography. There was no chance to photograph the castle from the ground as there was too much sun glare everywhere, so I brought my drone up in the air and tried to get the sun on my back. It worked and here is my favourite result. This spectacular Highland castle was built in 1866 located in beautiful wooded grounds in a stunning coastal setting overlooking Plockton, Loch Carron and the Applecross Peninsula. It is just about to open again for the public after a long extensive renovation, so make sure you stop by if you in the area.

"Delightful, quirky property with everything needed for a short stay. The host was very welcoming and even left us a bottle of wine and some fudge. He also came out to meet us on the road just to make sure we didn't miss the entrance. We very much enjoyed our stay, especially the quiet location which was only a short drive to the centre of Broadford. The bed was comfortable and we particularly liked the luxury linen. "WATCH OUT!!!! This property, and the people we interacted with for the reservation via Expedia, was a total scam. It starts with attractive photos on both Expedia and Hotels.com, but quickly gets sketchy with cryptic emails and texts regarding the reservation, payment and property details. Unfortunately, our trip was somewhat last minute, so we didn't have many local options for Skye, but this property / representatives were the absolute worst. STAY AWAY!!!"

"What a great find, 26 Harbour Street is just around the bay from the Plockton Hotel, so a good bar and restaurant was only 2 minutes walk away! The house was lovely, well furnished, a lovely Aga kept the house warm. All the bedrooms were well appointed and all 3 bathrooms were of a similar standard. "One of the best welcomes you'll get anywhere!!! Richard, Rebecca and the team, go the extra mile in hospitality and food . First name terms within minutes of meeting with everything all prepared ready! Rooms are basic but are clean, warm & with comfy beds. Entirely suitable for a few nights stay, as the friendliness outweighs any of that. Food is great, served with a smile, humour, or a story! A great place! "
