"Astir was literally across the street from the ocean. I did not have a full ocean view from my room, but I could see it from my balcony on the side of the building. It was a single room, so the bathroom was small, but the bed was comfortable. It was a lovely room for the price. The staff were very nice and friendly. There was a bar open in the afternoon/evening with a wonderful view of the ocean. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I would stay here again. "

"No one at front desk—a man arrived but did not speak English; we thought he was a guest but he called someone on his cell phone and handed it to me—a woman spoke with me briefly and then the man showed us to our room. Old refrigerator; door did not close, freezer was full of frost. Very few patrons; good because cheap hollow core doors shut very loudly and marble floors very noisy. We could hear two people arguing on higher floor. 3 min walk to nice beach with an attendant bringing drinks. ...

"The lady was very rude, she came and told us to be quiet and then 10 minutes later they were talking loudly and making lots of noise until the early hours of the morning. The hotel was very fresh and clean though, and a very nice big room with a big balcony. "

"Unbelievable stay. One of the most scenic places on our entire trip. Our room which was of good size and adequate amenities had a patio that overlooked the pool, cypress trees, and the ocean. It was like being at an Italian villa waking up to that view every morning. The pool was also an incredible addition to the stay. The staff was so nice and helpful with everything. "The breakfast was the only thing that was really disappointing. The breakfast room was really too hot, it would have been much better served in the bar area. The quality of food was poor, no butter (only margarine), cheap jam etc, no decent bread and what seemed to be tinned fruit salad and questionable (sometimes pink) Greek yogurt?! No selection of tea. Also too much single use plastic is used in this hotel, plastic straws, plastic jam containers etc. Our room (311) did not have a full length...
