  • Jewel at the Cape resides in a small gate community, just one door away from Salinas Park on the south end of Cape San Blas. The proximity to the park affords this home a very quiet and peaceful gulf front setting flanked by nature and the emerald waters of the Gulf. This home was built to accommodate larger multigenerational groups with an elevator that goes to the second level, a private pool and plenty of deck space to enjoy the unobstructed view of the water. Easy beach access is directly off the pool deck and just a short walk to the water’s edge.

    Cape San Blas is a place where families come to relax, friends unite, and memories are made. This fifteen mile west-facing peninsula in the panhandle of Florida offers amazing white sand beaches, emerald gulf waters and the highest dunes on the gulf coast. This home sets only a short walk to Salinas Park where you will find new pickleball courts and access to the St Joe Bay. The TH Stone Memorial State Park and all its untouched tropical nature is just nine miles north (a short bike or car ride). The town of Port St Joe is a ten-minute drive where you will find plenty of restaurants, shopping and a full-service marina.

Summer Vacation

We had a wonderful time staying at Jewel on the Cape! The house were perfect for our group of 13 ranging in age from 17-75. We enjoyed the pool, especially the fact that there were shady areas close by for those not wanting to be in the sun. We had everything we needed for cooking and love the extra refrigerator near the pool. The bathroom by the oool was also a great perk! We would defy rent from them again!

The half bath by the pool was absolutely lifesaving with young kids. The outdoor shower with WARM water to rinse off was so nice. The large ice maker and filtered water were both convenient touches as well. We requested the pool to be heated and that was soooo worth it. We had no clue you could get a permit to drive on the beach until we got there. We ended up renting golf carts and they were such a game changer for our older family and hauling stuff back and forth from the beach. Everyone driving on the beach was very respectful and slow. Donna was extremely helpful, answering all questions we had. We hope to come back soon!!

Lovely home!

Overall our stay was lovely! House was fantastic, and clean, pool was nice with an outdoor shower and bathroom which made it convenient when coming back from the beach. Location is good, close to Cape San Blas state park, many local restaurants in the area - we highly recommend The White Marlin, Sisters Bistro and Sweet Buns! A few of our favorites. The house is located a little over an hour from Panama City - which is worth the drive as the water is breathtaking over there and lots to do with the family. We saw dolphins every day from the decks, lots of eagles, and crabs. House was stocked nicely with many of the items you need to cook -and prep meals. Bathrooms are stocked with the essentials you need - but there is no hairdryer, so don’t forget to bring one. The only draw back is we asked if there was any construction near the property and was told that there wasn’t, however right next door there is a new build going up, so there was lots of construction noise that started around 8am - 6pm. Once that is finished, this house truly would get an 100% review as that was the only drawback - and honestly it truly is a Jewel overall! We would stay here again.

Spring Break

We had 3 requirements for our vacation rental: On the beach, with a pool and quiet. Jewel is stunning and the decor and finishes were simply beautiful (though the couch seems to be indoor/outdoor furniture and I expected more bed pillows and nicer linens). However, we had issues that we should not have encountered, for the cost paid. The home is a great location, right on the beach, however a clear path is not yet truly established. There is an elevator, which we were excited for so we didn't have to haul luggage and groceries up the stairs but we were not able to get it to work. We were just told to make sure the doors were closed and no other instructions. The phone in the elevator kept ringing throughout the week, which was odd. Our two biggest issues were the pool and the noise. The pool was not heated prior to our arrival and even with repeated service visits they were not able to fix the problem until the 6th day. The beach was closed for a couple of days and we were not able to use the pool instead as the water was very cold. Another big issue was that it was not disclosed that there was a home being constructed right next door. Unless you were at the beach, all you could hear was construction noise. House is lovely, but I would not have spent that kind of money had I known we would not be able to heat the pool and that there was construction next door. Property Managers were responsive but we ended up leaving a day early because of how disappointed we were.

Beautiful Property but…..

The house was absolutely perfect for our annual family gathering and we had a wonderful time! However, we were not impressed with the management company. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and well stocked with everything we needed. We had two minor issues and one major issue. We had requested two high chairs that were not there when we arrived, and in the listing description it stated there would be beach towels based on full occupancy, but we only had 10. We didn’t bother reaching out to property management but wanted to mention these two issues just for future guests information. We did however have a major issue that was not addressed after reaching out to the property manager on 3 separate occasions over 3 days. On our first full day there, the toilet by the pool filled to the rim with water. When my husband went to see what the issue was, he noticed water dripping from the lid on the septic tank. I called Donna the next morning and was told someone would be out. Nobody came. The next day I called her back to inform her the pool toilet was now overflowing with water, the sink was filling up, and the septic tank was spewing raw sewage. I again was told someone would be out, and again nobody came. The next day I sent her a video, hoping that would get her attention, but never even received a response. We were unable to use the pool on our last evening or morning of check out due to the smell. We loved the property but are very disappointed in the management company.

Perfect for Family Fun

We had a large group including two small children. The house accommodated everyone very nicely. We were absolutely amazed at all of the amenities included. We had everything that we needed. Very well stocked and we cooked every night. We were a little hesitant with the walking path down to the beach, but it wasn't that bad. It was a little hard for our older family members to get over the dune at the end, but we always made sure they had someone to lend a helping hand. We were so glad that we stayed here. We had a small problem with the elevator at first and a door handle, but Brian came very quickly and helped us out. We did not know that the small community where we stayed would not allow any RV parking overnight, but Be our Guest helped us out! Be our Guest staff were all wonderful! Thank you Donna, Brian, Gracie, and Dee!
