"Having lived in Rothesay for a few years in the sixties I was familiar with the Glenburn but never stayed there. It is indeed a grand building with great sea views but showing its age in a few areas. It was built in the early 1800s so that's not surprising. Parking can be a bit restrictive as the property was constructed in the days of horse and carriage. Staff were courteous and the lounge area with the bar is very comfortable and spacious. I will definitely stay there again. Very reasonable rates as well. "

"Lovely traditional seaside hotel in Largs, ideally placed for the beach. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and our hosts were so friendly and nice. My adult daughter and I stayed for 2 nights with our dogs and we had a fabulous time. Thank you :-)"

"we were only there for a short period of time roughly 13 hours, but we were able to enjoy the property. We had a lovely walk around the island. Very interesting architecture. my room was quiet and comfortable with a wonderful shower, with a lovely view of the water. While we did not have time to have dinner there, a number of people were and we didn’t hear any noise from the dining room or any of the other guest. So truly a lovely experience and I wish we’d had more time to enjoy more of it."

"I have rarely used exceptional to review a hotel but the Kames was. We travelled here from New Zealand on holiday and we only had one night but it was exceptional. The restaurant menu is top class, the range on the menu was great and seriously 10/10. I had locally free dived seared scallops from the loch, I had the slow roasted goat shank with lentils - exceptional, and we shared a lemon tart with fresh berries. I loved the Kames and I seriously recommend both the hotel and the restaurant. That is my honest feedback, Thanks, Phil."
