Alii Kai 8H is a lovely, private top floor condo with gorgeous views of the ocean that you can enjoy from your balcony lanai. This two bedroom corner unit has a comfortable and homey main living space, a fully stocked kitchen, and two private ensuite bathrooms so nobody has to share! The guest bedroom shares the same awesome views as the lanai, so you can watch the sun rise over the ocean without even getting out of bed.

You'll find yourself in the perfect jumping off point for exploring the island at Alii Kai 8H. Anini Beach is just 15 minutes away, and has crystal clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling! You might also catch a glimpse of a Hawaiian green sea turtle while you're there. Hanalei Bay is also just 10 minutes away, and has beautiful golden sand beaches with calm waters perfect for all ages of swimmers. The charming Hanalei town is right nearby, and has a variety of boutiques and delicious restaurants and cafes for all your shopping and dining needs. Hideaways Beach is just a mile away from Alii Kai, and if you're able to brave the steep path you'll be rewarded with a secluded and shady beach experience that feels like your own slice of paradise. The snorkeling isn't half bad either! If you want a break from the crowds, we recommend heading to Kilauea, just 20 minutes down the road, to check out the iconic lighthouse and wildlife preserve. Or, if you prefer sticking a bit closer to home, the Princeville shopping center is just a mile away, and has plenty of options for shopping and grabbing tasty bites, as well as the Foodland grocery store for even more convenience! The nationally ranked Makai golf course is also just a 10 minute walk away from your front door, and has some of the best golfing in the country.

If you prefer less running around on vacation and more time relaxing, the Alii Kai complex is perfectly suited for a chilled out staycation! The complex has a large heated pool, jacuzzi, and shallow wading pool that's great for children, as well as plenty of sun loungers and shaded clubhouse seating. There are also gas grills on site if you want to spend the day grilling out and enjoying the beautiful weather, or you can take a stroll around the beautifully landscaped grounds. situated right on the rocky bluffs, and enjoy some stellar ocean views!

Looking to explore other parts of the island? Drive time to the South Shore is roughly 75 minutes, and to the East Side (where the airport is located) is 55 minutes.

As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned, although there are screen doors on the lanai and fans in every room to help with airflow.

This is an upstairs condo so you need to be able to go up and down 16 stairs. There are no elevators.

We stayed in a nice 2-bedroom unit with a view of the ocean. The only issue we had was that the cable was connected to a light switch, but the property management folks helped us fix that. Overall, it was a good stay.

Upon our arrival, I was somewhat disappointed that first evening that the condo appeared a bit tired and shabby. By the next afternoon, my attitude adjusted and I realized that it was adequate in the ways that mattered. The bed was comfortable, the shower had good water pressure and the appliances in the kitchen worked well. It was clean, quiet and in a nice location. But it could definitely use some new paint, a carpentry refresh and a bit of modernizing in the kitchen. The attentiveness of staff before and during our visit was excellent. We’d stayed at this complex 3 yrs prior with friends, thus our decision to return to the area. three years priorkitchen

Had a very relaxing and pkeasant stay at Alii Kai 2. Comfortable and roomy condo with nice view of ocean and mountains. There were a few hiccups, like the dishwasher not working but the property management quickly responded. I would recommend .both the property and properties managed by Kauai Kahuna.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was okay. I wouldn't rebook it though. The bathrooms needed a complete remodel. The tub was gross, and the cabinets were in need of an update. You had a HUGE HOLE in the wall in the kitchen. Perfect for insects, or rodents to come through. I never cooked in that kitchen.

This unit was a little older and a few things didn't work-but the guest contact person was great! Very helpful. If you are a light sleeper, take earplugs! The roosters are beautiful however, POPULOUS & LOUD!!! Aloha!

On the plus side, the space was decent in a nice area close to Princeville. The kitchen was fairly well appointed with medium quality dishes. They really should repair the wall behind the microwave though. They should make it clear the pool you see in the pictures is not the one you are allowed to use. The one you are able to use is actually better but we wasted time not knowing we were trying to get into the wrong area. Our TV failed before a big game and we spent al lot of time trying to figure out what was wrong. Turns out it was Roku but we were without entertainment for most of the trip. No stereo, or ability to use DVD. Kauai is very quiet after dark.

Enjoyed the ocean view while having our morning coffee on the balcony. Convenient to all the beaches we wanted to check out, it's only a few minutes to Hanalei, and even in the rain we had a great time there. The bed is nice, comfortable. There was always parking available. Good internet. There was some rust on things like curtain rods, which is hardly surprising in the climate and certainly didn't detract from our enjoyment. Not a thing to complain about, would stay here again for sure.

Dishwasher did not work and would not be repaired or replaced during our 2 week stay. Toaster and microwave were broken. They did bring a new toaster and microwave. No hot pads available. Very little hot water in master shower. We were refunded one night stay for the inconveniences.

I did not like the showers you could not regulate the water it was either too hot or cold. You thought you had it right & all of the sudden it too hot. It really needs to be fixed to Be able to give a better rating.

The dishwasher was broken when we arrived and was beeping, they finally sent someone over and they disconnected the circuit breaker to stop the beeping, which also killed some of the outlets in one of the bedrooms. 2. In the other bedroom 1/2 of one of the outlets behind the bed stopped working.

Overall it was great but not having AC and being from Arizona we don't do so well with the humidity and no AC since we are use to having AC at night. Had two fans blowing at night to try to sleep. The condo and location were great the furniture was great as well. None of the other condos in the area have AC It is our fault for not looking into the AC situation because the VRBO listing does not say there is AC in the property we just assumed that all properties would have AC. Great place to stay if the weather is nice or you are use to humid summers it should be a great place. No problems what so ever everything worked well and was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay in Kauai and would recommend this property !

First off hot tub heater broken and pool heater broke . Pool freezing cold . To cold to swim in condo tv local cable / tv channels not working 5 Remotes in home but none worked ( no response ) also tv and wifi modem on a lite switch (had to figure out on our own ( no response ) also after 5 days shower broke and was not fixed . Management company contacted us regular to ask if we had any issues. Butt when we reported issues no response or very delayed response and no fixes of any isues reported and no explination on why or just we will let maintenance know of isues and no further comunication

Reviewer Comments: We spent a good portion of the week talking to the management company about spotty wifi, TV not working, garbage disposal back-up, (only used it once) and several other more minor issues that could have been avoided with better, more detailed move-in instructions. Managers were friendly, but most answers were "try this", or "we will call maintenance", or "we are very sorry". We did not see a manager or maintenance person all week. My impression is that the owner does not want to spend any money so furnishings are sparce, appliances need up-dating (the side of the refrigerator and freezer racks appeared to be rusty), and the microwave above the stove does not work -so we used a smaller one located on the counter. The good news is that the place was clean and in a good Princeville location. Being situated next to and above the pool we were able to hear most of the pool conversations as well as the moans and heavy breathing from the unit below. We vacated our two week reservation after the first week and moved to a more suitable and comfortable location. No refund was offered.

Nice view, comfy beds and well equipped with cookware, utensils, etc. The unit could use some updates - cabinets, paint, etc, but certainly workable. Fully equipped with beach equipment - chairs, umbrella, towels, snorkels/masks, etc.We are definitely in agreement with the previous reviews raising the issue of hot water availability in this unit. There is literally none in the master bath and with some luck you can get a few minutes of "lukewarm" out of the "guest" shower if you keep playing with the control - and hot water out of the taps is always an iffy proposition. I fully realize there can be issues with an "on-demand" hot water system and "plumbers are very hard to get to come" but I feel that for the cost of the unit it should be a courtesy to inform renters of this issue before they come. This "amenity" was very important to my wife and her sister (with much curly hair) and I heard about it daily!Also - make sure you clean up any food off the counters and out of the sink and hang the kitchen washcloth over the faucet (they love water) if you use it or you will have a bunch of tiny ants. I started leaving the under-cabinet light on thru the night and it seemed to keep them at bay.

Hot water in master shower has a mind of it's own & shower door is tricky.3. #H8 Pool is not the one you view from the deck, look left, it's in the bld group 8+ & place gate fob to sensor to open.4. Coffee maker is a drip.5. Circuit breaker is behind the hall picture if outlets fail.6.The contact people are WONDERFUL, HELPFUL & PROMPT!!!7. The Crazy roosters are beautiful,treasured to the island i'm sure-but this visit I felt they had multiplied beyond words! Therefore, if you have GOOD hearing or NO earplugs...FORGET SLEEPING IN!8. Finally, it's evident that native Kauaian's have become quite impatient with tourists. I get it. They have to deal with MANY rude & "impatient" visitors in their HOME - but it sure made it a little less lovely :( (I don't need people honking their horns, shaking fists & heads & screaming at me...I can get that in SF or NYC!).9. All said, it was a nice visit for me & my 92 year old Mom who just wanted to go there "1 more time!"10. Note to Mom; "PARADISE is anywhere I get to spend time with you, <3 Lindy"
