Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya - An Adults Only All Inclusive

10/10 Excellent

"The resort was very small but nice. The rooms were a good size, beautifully decorated and clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There's a concierge office, but I don't recommend going there for excursions unless you want to go sit through a meeting...sort of like a time share type thing I would guess. Not sure though because we opted out of that. There is another area that you can go to book really great excursions. I highly recommend swimming with the whale sharks if you go during that season. One negative thing is that the food on the breakfast buffet wasn't great. Not sure what they offered for lunch and dinner because we didn't eat there for those meals. Also, guys can't enter if wearing a sleeveless shirt, which was weird in my opinion, especially since it's a beach resort and most people grab a bite at the buffet before heading to the pool. There is a little pool side place to eat, but you can't order and bring the food to your lounge seats, also strange to me. The have a steak house that we didn't try but heard it was just ok, but the Italian restaurant was really good!! Also no waiters taking drink orders by the pool, you have to go to the bar...swim or walk up. There is no beach at this resort...and it is on the Gulf side, so the water isn't pretty. Overall we have a great time and would consider returning."

"This property was relaxing for 2-3 days. The food was great. You don't need to be here anymore than 3 days, unless you are just going to relax. I enjoyed this resort and would go back. The view from my full ocean view room was amazing."

"Had a great time celebrating our daughter's 8th birthday. Royalton Splash had a mix of adults, couples, kids, etc., but mainly it is for kids so not everything is going to be perfect. But the food was pretty good, especially the buffet and the steakhouse and the Mexican restaurant. The highlights were the pools, lazy river, and water park. Even though some of the rides were closed, the water park is pretty epic. And Mexico has mastered the art of customer service - the service we received was excellent."

"This is a good resort that has the best options of restaurants, several good options. However, the the beache is very bad, non-enjoyable. They should remove all the rocks and have a sandy beach, I love the resort but without the proper beach, it's hard to come back."

"We had an excellent vacation on this hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful, always say Hello and giving us a beautiful smile. The food, omg, fantastic. Sincerely we recommend this hotel if you want to have a great vacation with your family. The only issue is that if you want to make a reservation in some restaurants that need to reserve is not possible. But there is food everywhere. But I think that this issues with the reservation is because we planned our vacation only 48 hours in advance and we are in a high season. This is our second Royalton hotel and as the first one in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic it was FANASTIC."

"La propiedad está muy cuidada con jardines muy bonitos. Nos encantó la habitación, muchas gracias por los detalles. El servicio es excelente , muchas gracias a los meseros de las cenas Doremi y Daniel y las hostess, a los recepcionistas Yolitzin y Daniel. El resort es grande, puedes estar en zona de entretenimiento o en la zona más tranquila durante el día… Hay bar en las dos zonas."
