The grounds have a very tropical forest atmosphere. The birds and mongoose scurrying in and out of the banana plants, Hawaiian Ginger everywhere, other types of palms with ferns and orchids high in the air, just a very comfortable place to sit and take it all in after a long day of hiking the Pipiwai Trail, ʻOheʻo Gulch (Seven Sacred Pools) and plenty of sightseeing. Speaking of sightseeing, Waioka Pond (the infamous Venus Pool) is just a fifteen-minute walk.The inside is rustic and comfortable. The kitchen is small but has everything you might need. The bedrooms and beds are very nice, but the bed out on the enclosed front porch was amazing! Albert, the host, is great. If you have the chance to meet him, you will be better off for it. Thank you again Albert!"

"Rain or shine, Hana never fails to disappoint. A stay here is tonic for the soul. After the busy activities in Lahaina area, it felt great to slow down and just be. The home was a tranquil place, beautiful yard of flowers to greet us, a strand of native bananas hung by the door for the picking. Good! We are two older couples and the accommodations were perfect. Close to town, a short walk to a dramatic black lava beach, you can see the ocean from the porch. And the porch....a special outdoor sleeping area. Just what we were looking for. Just beautiful."

"We loved staying at Hale Ulu Lulu. Sweet and comfortable cottage had everything we needed. Location was perfect. So close to Hamoa Beach and we loved seeing the ocean and hearing the surf. Wonderful spot!"

"We loved it here. I'm a gardener & therefore adored looking at all the plants. We spent most of our time reading together on the screened-in lanai. I made every excuse to take multiple showers in the outdoor-one: it felt very Brooke-Shields-in-the-Blue-Lagoon (if they'd had a shower--but you know what I mean). Beautiful, evocative touches throughout. The mosquito netting over the bed was somewhat difficult to negotiate, but no biggie. "

As soon as you walk in you feel a beautiful breeze off the ocean and can see and hear the surf below.The porch is such an easy place to relax: stare out at the ocean, watch the numerous butterflies and birds that live in the meadow or have a drink with a great book.The cottage is very well looked after and is equipped with everything you might need. We loved the location as it was between the town of Hana and the national park.Michelle, the host, was terrific with providing all the information we needed for an enjoyable stay.While visiting, we loved swimming at Hamoa Beach, hiking the Pipiwai Trail and gulch trail, the Hana Highway with its spectacular views and the people/shops of Hana.The cottage is the perfect place to capture the best that Maui has to offer.
