"As a family of three I booked a room that would be suitable for me and my two sons (19 and 14). We were placed in Wellington Lodge which is about a 10 - 15 min walk from the main building. This wasn't a massive problem for us but it was raining on our first night and something to be aware of if you are booking a room, maybe call and check first if it is a problem for you as the buildings are quite spread out. The Mansion house looks impressive and it is, although there wasn't really much happening in there except for breakfast and an empty bar. Seemed a bit of a shame really as the building is amazing. The breakfast was pretty good but I couldn't help thinking that its a shame that the breakfast room isn't open as a cafe during the day serving panini's and snacks, seemed a bit of a wasted opportunity really. Wokefield place is the main place to be, you can get a drink at the bar, watch sports and play pool but it serves the same menu as The View restaurant which was a little disappointing and expensive. The pool and gym are OK. The driving range was good. There was no information in our room, menus, eating times etc. Overall we had a nice break."

"Room 308 is haunted. I have stayed in this room 3 times now and have had something breath in my ear as I lay in bed wide awake, I had something invisible walk up to me quickly as I could hear the heavy footsteps and i turned around and nothing was there and I heard a short groan which was definitely from inside the room. Apart from that I had a lovely stay."

"Room cosy bath was nice shower was a little under pressured wobbly toilet and a small leak from the sink, not an issue though nice and quiet normal sounds such as doors closing and people talking. Very comfy bed and sofa high tv with smart view connection for devices. Extra towels and pillows too. Food onside was a bonus though I didn't eat as it was a layover for one night. Best thing was on arrival I got to check in early as I had miss read the email confirmation the staff were happy for me to go to the room as it was ready. One small issue was that the heating was electric and on a timer so was initially chilly once I'd figured out the override room warmed up very nicely. Definately recommend if travelling for work or just need to rest on a long journey 10/10 would and will stay again."
